Today, I had to go to work early and my husband had to put Conner in the kennel. The time came for him to go to work, he put two "little men" in Conner's kennel, and told him to get in. Conner started racing around the dining room table. So my husband starting walking to the bedroom, asking Conner if he wanted to play (one of his favorite things to do with my husband is to play on the bed). While my husband was walking towards the bedroom, Conner ran into his kennel, took the two "little men", got out of the kennel and did not follow my husband into the bedroom! I don't know how he finally got him in, but he was late for work. Now he knows what I go through.

| Sam doesnt particularly like that "come" command either..... I started limiting his space when it was getting closer to time for me to leave. I shut all the doors and gate the hall so he is only in the kitchen. Makes it easier for me to grab'em up.

| Do you only call him to "come" when it is time to put him in his kennel? Our trainer told us to call come throughout the day so they know that come doesn't always mean something bad (eg. leaving the dog park, going in the kennel). Tell him to come when it is time to play, tell him come when it's time for treats, or even when its just time for kisses. Is there somewhere else you could keep him while you're away? Maybe the bathroom or the kitchen? Being in a kennel probably isn't much fun. Or could you try an X-pen? |
