no clue!!!! I have a 15 week old tea cup yorkie. Overall she is a pretty good puppy except for 2 things. One her crying and barking at night. She absolutely hates being in her crate. When we let her out to go pee all she wants to do is play. I have tried putting toys with her, putting a blanket over her crate even putting her with the other dog and nothing seems to work. The biggest problem we are having with her is potty training. She just pees anywhere she wants. She knows where she is supposed to go but choose not too. We have a play pen set up with pee pads and she will jump in the pen sniff around jump out and pee on the carpet. We have praised her and given her treats when she does good but still continues to pee on the carpet. She has got the fact of pooping on the pads but again she still pees everywhere else. We even noticed she is peeing in her crate. We made the mistake of giving he too much room so we blocked off half her crate only to find her not only peeing still but pooped as well. I dont want to take her outside yet since she hasnt had her 2nd set of shots or been treated for fleas and ticks. Please help. I dont know what else to do.

This is a puppy!! A baby!! PATIENCE!!! Have you ever owned a puppy before? Have you ever owned a Yorkie? I always advise my new owners to buy at least two excellent books on Yorkies...."Yorkies For Dummies" and "Yorkshire Terriers: A Smart Owners Guide". Not everyone is up to owning a Yorkie! They are notoriously stubborn, but theY are also notoriously devoted, loving companions, who do everythng they possibly can to win you over and get completely into your heart and soul! You sound like you have a precious little baby, that is acting like any healthy puppy does! I think you need to invest in those two books, read, and learn how to deal with this little precious terrier, with the exuberant, effervescent attitude! This is normal behavior, and you need to get prepared for what is going to follow, and how you will need to address this baby's future! Last edited by Yorkiemom1; 11-19-2013 at 10:23 AM.

I went through the same thing even when I got Jess at almost a year old. Hated the small crate, peed and pooped on her bed whenever she felt the need. I had to put the crate in my daughters room (a medium one with a bed and pee pad) and close it at night. She stopped making noises at night when she was with one of us. I will tell you it just takes time. Restrict her space , watch her all the time out of the pen )some people tether themselves to the dog. (I have four kids so that didn't work for me) and eventually they figure it out. Oddest thing Jess will go a month without one accident then she will have two in one day then go back to being perfect and she is almost 2. In fact she did that last night so she knows shes in the "dog house" with me today. lol Be patient, it will happen. 15 weeks in practically an infant.

| I had a similar moment three month ago... I took my puppy Simba (~3month at that time) outside for half hour, he came home and peed... and did it again later on the same day. He knew where to go, sometimes he forgot to let us know before it was too late... Accidents happened everyday. By 4 to 5 month, he finally can hold it a little longer and by 6 month, I'm pretty confident at his potty situation and accepting the fact he is still going to pee anywhere if he's over excited (other dogs in my apartment or he's crazy about his bully stick treat). Mine cried a lot when he first came. My boyfriend and I slept on the couch right next to his crate in turns at night for the first week. The second week, we built an "fenced" area in the bedroom for him. That lasted for about couple weeks. And he gradually moved into our bed. It just takes time. Just be consistent and patient Yorkies are smart.

We got gracie at 20 weeks and i put a small, covered crate on a chair right by my bed so she could see me. I slowly move it away until it was on the floor across the room. In the beginning, when she'd fuss, I just reached out and tapped the crate and make soothing noises but wouldn't give her any attention. She settled down in a few nights.
