| Carpet digging Lacey likes to dig and will dig in the dirt when she's outside. Lately she has started trying to dig up the carpet. I have to watch her constantly. She has two places she wants to dig...at the front door or at the door to the bedroom. The cats are in the bedroom and it is blocked from her by a baby gate so that the cats can escape her antics when needed. I have used Bitter Apple spray at both places and that helped some. Last night, I fell asleep for 30 minutes and woke up to a 4 inch hole in my carpet at the bedroom door. Carpet fibers everywhere. She made a huge mess. Has anyone else faced this problem? If so, how did you stop it? I put a small rug down and she just carried it off to the living room. I rent and will have to pay for the damage she has done to the carpet. |

| Huey doesn't dig the carpet, he digs the mattress and the corners of the sofa. The sofa is leather and we have been able to stop him before he has caused any damage, but although the mattress is intact, he has made holes in two fitted sheets...I needed new ones anyway... The carpet, he finds dead bugs outside, brings them in, crushes them into the carpet and then rolls in them. Blleeehhhhhh

| I found that when Jess has a bad habit what I do is I catch her in the act and spray a little water in her face and say a firm no. Now all I have to do is lift the bottle..and the behavior has reduced to almost none.. |

| Do you shut her out of your bedroom at night and is she is trying to get in? If so I am not so sure about doing that bc it probably is making her feel isolated. What about putting an expen in your bedroom at night and keeping her in that if your afraid of her bothering the cats at least she is not isolated. I have always had dogs and cats and I never keep them separated they always seemed to learn to get along. My Golden retriever use to sleep with the cat. I just think that separating them makes it kinda like forbidden fruit
