| I have both girls and boys. I prefer girls, I guess because I always grew up with all female dogs. My girls never fight and have wonderful personalities, they are cuddly as can be and playful. That said, they do mark like little boys, so just know getting a girl doesn't guarantee that they won't mark. ![]() Now my mom prefers boys. The boys love her and are very dedicated to her. I really like both but the girls just gravitate towards me while the boys gravitate towards my mom. Her boys are cuddly and playful just like my girls are cuddly and playful. There is a saying for yorkies that goes, female yorkies love you while male yorkies are in love with you. I would say that is pretty accurate.

| It depends on the individuals personality! I had great luck with training male yorkies and found female chis were easier in that breed. |

| My little boy OWNS me! He is the first male dog I have had as an adult. I almost didn't get him because he was a "HE"! Oh my gosh am I glad I did! He is so laid back, has good manners, picks his clothes out of the laundry basket and is very attached to my husband and I. He was spayed when he was 6-7 months old and to this day he does not lift his leg to pee nor does he mark!!!! My daughter has a female yorkie (spayed) and she is a true DIVA but also very loving and affectionate.

| Max Main's Mamma Donating YT Member | I think all dogs are unique and born with their own little personality which you will help mold through training and love. ![]() I have never had a girl Yorkie, but rescued a girl mixed breed and she was exceptionally difficult to train and would run away at any opportunity. All of my boy dogs have been very attached to me and loving. I have only had Max for 4 months now (I got him at 12 weeks too). He is the only Yorkie I have ever had and I will say he is the absolute love of my life!!! You are going to love him to death! Congratulations!!!

| YT Addict | I've had a boy kitty in the past and now a boy yorkie. Both are little lovers; my cat, Cody, thought he was a puppy lol. My girl cat, Bibi, was very standoffish when she got older. Me and Miles have bonded since day one. They say that a male dog bonds better with women. So when Miles is ready to depart this earth for the rainbow bridge I will get another male yorkie. Maybe it will be him coming back to me lol. WOOF!!! |

| ♥Love My 3 Furrbutts♥ Donating Member | I have both...I don't really know which i prefer. My little girl is sooo laid back, she loves to be groomed..actually comes running when she sees the brush, and she will sit for me to put her bow in! Orion (my boy) will fight me when i try and put a top knot in! As soon as its in...he will paw at it to get it out! He does'nt sit still for a minuite always going....BUT he is far easier to train than his sister. He will sit on command where his sister...although she knows the command will stand there and look at me...selective deafness I guess. Orion loves to snuggle though, where Raelle will snuggle when she feels like it. The leg lifting....OMG!!! The stinker peed on his sister's head!! At 4am when I'm trying to get out the door for work...this is not cute, cuz now i have to give her a bath! He's quite happy with himself when he does this of course...tail wagging and big smile...'I'm a good boy mom I peed outside!' I love putting bows in their hair so I guess I prefer a girl in that sense. I'm looking to add another one within the next 6mths...no idea which i will get yet....hmmmm boy or girl???

| I have one each. I always prefered girl's. In Dec I was given my yr old male from a lady no longer wanting the breed. She had 3 yorkies. I ask to take him on trial to see if he would get along with my female. After keeping him for 2 wks there was no way he was going back. He is so sweet and such a lap dog. I love my female but she has a mind of her own. She likes to be nx to me but not in my lap. My male gives more kisses and loves to be cuddled. Maybe it's just her but it sure has changed my thoughts of males. |

| most of my dogs have been girls. had 1 male (german shepherd) many years ago that was unexpectedly dumped on my doorstep by a so-called friend. that unfortunately didn't work out. i still prefer females. i tend to get along better with them...so far at least.
