Thank God For Belly Bands i always try to keep the belly band on marco. just a few min ago i was in my bathroom washing my face. Mind you i just purchased a new plush ruby red rug from Jcpenny on Black Friday along with a whole new bathroom set. Marco comes in the bathroom and stands right next to me. He bends down and proceeds to pee on my rug. I could not tell what he was doing because he is so low to the floor s i had to bend own close to him to see. He just kept on peeing. So i lifted him up and took the band off and he soaked the pad. I told him no no and put him on his wee wee pad in the kitchen . We were just about to go out t0 my moms house so he could play with her doggy, he was dresses up and smelling good. i took his coat and shirt off and locked his but up in the crate. He will never leave ut of the kitchen with out his band on. THANK GOD FOR BELLY BANDS. i bought mine from furkidcreations.com

I bought some for my Bichon and wasn't real happy with the way they were made. The ones you have look better, but are a little expensive. -------------------------------------------- I bought a couple dozen small wash clothes and use them. I fold them over several times (forming a long narrow strip) and wrap them around my puppy. I overlap them on top and secure them firmly on top with a darling diaper pin. I like these. They are folded over enough that they are very absorbent. And I can just throw them in the washing machine with the rest of my laundry. They come in lots of colors and are "almost free." They really do work well. Carol Jean

question about belly bands... my pup grooms himself all the time, and licks his crotch. will the belly band prevent him from doing that? i have a feeling he might just chew it off. i'm really curious to see how the wash cloth method works too! it would be really helpful when i'm in someone else's home to prevent possible accidents!

| Have any of you tried the diapers made for human babies??? I started using those on my 9 month old pups a few weeks ago and they are working great and the best thing about it is I don't have to buy and wash those belly bands and I just throw the dirty disposable diaper in the trash when it's soiled. I bought a size 2 and my boys are about 4 to 5 lbs . I don't put it on between their legs covering their poo poo area though, I put it on side ways across their bellies like the belly bands fit. Just thought I'd share...I hated having to keep the belly bands washed and they were so expensive I thought for the good ones.

I have never heard about these Belly bands, or using Diapers. I just got my Yorkie a few weeks ago. If I use those belly Bands or diapers, will he always have to use them? or will he learn to go on a Pee pee pad. Thanks

You still train your dog to go potty outside or on a pad, the belly bands are just meant to put on your dog when they are just running around the house so you can save your carpet and furniture . This has been my experience so far: Any dog 6weeks to 3 months is just a puppy so they may potty on themselves or in thier cage and not care if they are all messy. BUt once they are a little older like 3months+, dogs really do not like pee on themselves. Therefore, if they wear a diaper of belly band they will learn to hold thier potty until you specify its potty time. So it also makes potty training a lot easier IMO. I personally could never train chloe to use the pee pads so I trained her to go outside. I would take the diaper off and tell her to "potty outside" and let all the dogs into the backyard and they quickly learned what to do. So no you will not alwayas have to use them, they are just for really messy puppies(lets face it puppies will have accidents on your floor and it will take awhile to train them where to potty) and they make a great aid in helping to potty train.

Belly Bands have been a house saver for us... Shiloh is our stud male and he has to wear Belly Bands all day.. Training was out of the question for him... since he was also a Kennel Puppy for the first year of his life... So the belly bands gave him Freedom and he loves them now.. When we say... "Come get your diaper changed" He comes running..
