yes it is a bite much. but they work good. and they stay on. i bought a fleece band at 1st. it was the worst. it kept riding up

I bought a couple dozen small wash clothes and use them.

I fold them over several times (forming a long narrow strip) and wrap them around my puppy. I overlap them on top and secure them firmly on top with a darling diaper pin.

I like these. They are folded over enough that they are very absorbent. And I can just throw them in the washing machine with the rest of my laundry.

They come in lots of colors and are "almost free." They really do work well.
