| Good Question and why would you put a small Yorkie tied out on a lead in a yard where he could possibly choke himself, or worse some dog come in the yard, such as a pitbull and mangle him.

| I know. People really don't think it can happen to them.

YT Addict | Electric fence may keep your dog in but he will be subjected to other dogs having easy access to him, since they don't have the collar. Seems like it would be kind of dangerous to leave your baby unprotected like that |

| Right. But if for some reason baby gates aren't an option, wouldn't the training be a second best solution? If you know your dog is prone to run or chase things, have him/her sit at the door, leash them up and then open the door, regardless of whether your taking them out or getting a package from the mailman. You have to do whatever it takes to keep yen safe.

I have gates at each of my doors that lead to unfenced areas. The one gate is not at the door...it is at the entrance to that room.

| Dad was the one who opened the door, and thankfully, I was pulling up to the house when I saw Teddy shooting down our long driveway. I jumped out of the car and called him to me and he came. My heart was in my throat.

| I hear you! I have had it happen to me...nothing more frightening. My Cookie got out one night when I had company. It was dark out and she just kept running around the neighborhood. I was SO upset and finally sat down in the middle of the street and started crying (such a grown up reaction..haha) ... she came running to me to comfort me! funny...was not planned...but it worked! She was licking my face...haha
