Whew , I'm new here too and I am so glad I found this place!!! My little Kai (shes's 12 1/2 weeks old) LOVES to bite , and drags herself along attached to my pant leg and is constentley untieing my shoe , and hiding them also. I am trying the NO bite and yelping thing , I have also put my hand around her mouth and said no bite. This is the first yorkie I have owned , My parents had one when I was a teen and I loved him , but I had not part in the training , I am so glad to find other people with the same problems!!!! I am crate training her also. I work 8-10 hours a day but I come home every break to let her out to potty and play. The week is not a problem for me it's the weekends and day's off , because I hate putting her in her crate when im home!!! I guess I just need to be more wacthful and repeat the outside trips more frequentley!!! I am just so glad to see it's not only my pup with these "habits!!"

| Just keep telling her no when she bites. It took about 3 weeks for my puppy to get it. He still trys and I tell him no and he stops. Its an improvement at least.

Just say no, over and over and over....... Hi I too am a new yorkie owner as well as new to this group. But I have had a few dogs in my life; I find the best way to teach them about bitting is to bite em back, no kidding a firm loud NO in a deep voice works with mine. he still goes to chew but stops as soon as I say no. Always use one word if you chose No cool, but stop will work just as well. stay with it it will work. Mine is only 9 weeks old and I have him 2 weeks. Now the potty training is a different story..................HELP.

Our older cockapoo was a biter as a baby.. what we did was buy some Bitter Apple and sprayed it on our hands. Well it tastes real yucky so Molly stopped biting. Also sprayed our feet/socks. Norma

Same problem! Thank you all for the tips, my bella is 11 weeks today and she bites like crazy and every time we try to say no she gets more exited, so it's not working for me..... But I'm really going to try to ignore her to see how it goes..... http://www.dogster.com/dogs/749553
