| I have 3 pups what I found helps with the biting which I think is because they are teething is if they are biting on you when your playing with them say yike loud like the sound they make when they are hurt. This works every time for me. They tilt their little heads and look at me like I'm sorry and will usually kiss me. I also keep teething toys around and switch my finger for a nyla-bone. When they tried chewing on my baseboards and furniture I sprayed bitter apple that you can buy at the pet store. |

I will definitely get some of the spray. I'm just afraid she is driving my boyfriend crazy with the biting at his feet and pants so much and I want them to just love each other!

| I agree, it sounds like she's teething. Make the YIKE! sound and pull your finger away. Then, replace it with a teething toy. Those nyla-bone things are good. Good luck! I know she'll do fine!

I notice she bites my feet more when I'm wearing sandals with big rhinestones on them so I think she thinks the shininess is a toy, haha!

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | Thats normal. My pup does the same and its just because they are teething. When she bites too hard I say "OUCH" and then I put her down and I dont pet/play with her for a few minutes. Pups want your attention and they will work out that biting = no attention and soon give up. I would recommend kong chew toys and you can also get some teething toys which you wet then put in the freezer to help ease the pain in their gums.

| If the yelping noise doesn't work, you could try a loud OUCH! more deep than squeaky, it worked for Harley, I also started teaching him to kiss not to bite when playing around my hands. Now if he tries to nip my hand I can leave it there, say ouch and he kisses my hand nicely... I found that if I jerked my hand away he'd chase and bite more... which is not good. Good teething toys: Kongs, hard rubber things, Harley doesn't care if I put treats in his kong, he just wants the feeling of the hard rubber. I bought him a "Pokie" (you know Gumby & Pokie) at the pet store (it was pet safe, not wirey like kids toys) and he LOVES it.

| This is how it was explained to me & helped me understand how best to train Kasha. Between 9-12 weeks puppies learn bite inhibition from their mom & litter mates. During play, the pups will wrestle and bite and when they bite too hard the pup will yelp. Play stops when a yelp happens. So, when your pup bites you just make sure to yelp/cry consistently and stop playing. You should also always replace your hands/feet/house(lol) with chew toys. For chew toys I always keep on hand ( now just to keep her busy) - Edible Nylabones (the regular didn't go over well) - Dehydrated Chicken strips ( she will do ANYTHING for them) - Nylabone also makes other chew treats which are great - Flossies (if you can go to a holistic pet shop for this rather than petsmart) - Dehydrated sweet potatoes (those you can wet and freeze) - KONG the best toy ever If you feel like she's hurting because of teething (which shouldn't happen for another couple months) I froze clean soaked athletic socks and she chewed at it. Hopefully this helps you out some!
