This is how it was explained to me & helped me understand how best to train Kasha. Between 9-12 weeks puppies learn bite inhibition from their mom & litter mates. During play, the pups will wrestle and bite and when they bite too hard the pup will yelp. Play stops when a yelp happens. So, when your pup bites you just make sure to yelp/cry consistently and stop playing. You should also always replace your hands/feet/house(lol) with chew toys.
For chew toys I always keep on hand ( now just to keep her busy)
- Edible Nylabones (the regular didn't go over well)
- Dehydrated Chicken strips ( she will do ANYTHING for them)
- Nylabone also makes other chew treats which are great
- Flossies (if you can go to a holistic pet shop for this rather than petsmart)
- Dehydrated sweet potatoes (those you can wet and freeze)
- KONG the best toy ever
If you feel like she's hurting because of teething (which shouldn't happen for another couple months) I froze clean soaked athletic socks and she chewed at it.
Hopefully this helps you out some!
