If the yelping noise doesn't work, you could try a loud OUCH! more deep than squeaky, it worked for Harley, I also started teaching him to kiss not to bite when playing around my hands. Now if he tries to nip my hand I can leave it there, say ouch and he kisses my hand nicely... I found that if I jerked my hand away he'd chase and bite more... which is not good.
Good teething toys: Kongs, hard rubber things, Harley doesn't care if I put treats in his kong, he just wants the feeling of the hard rubber. I bought him a "Pokie" (you know Gumby & Pokie) at the pet store (it was pet safe, not wirey like kids toys) and he LOVES it.
