| A five year old yorkie can be trained! I started one of my dogs in agility at seven and a half years old as she was the youngest dog in the house that I had to train to compete. She was nearly nine and got her novice standard and novice jumpers titles in two weekends. To get titles, they have to have three qualifying runs under two different judges. She also got the titles with four first place runs and two second place runs. I was so proud of her! Unfortunately, about a month later, she was diagnosed with lymphoma and instead of agility trials, we went to the vet for her chemo. She was eleven when she died. I had gotten Libby to foster when she was one year old, placed her for a year, had her returned to me and kept her. I was trialing two dogs at the time, so didn't start her training until they retired. I just don't

| I was going to say I don't think any dog is too old to train. Not only that, they are not too old to totally bond to you. I don't think anyone would ever know which dog in my house came to me as a puppy and which was an adult.

| Congratulations on your puppy. This is good news that they can still be trained at any age. My 3 are 16 months, 15 months and 9 months. We are still working on potty training because the baby just doesn't get it. Good to have someone else from Georgia.

| Toby lifts his back legs like he's trying to jump/leap too. It's so cute!

| I got Spike when he was five months old, and we immediately enrolled in beginner obedience. He was great, although we did have to do some extra practice at home with certain things, although I think that was more to do with the fact that he doesn't like to "stay", rather than his age. He picked it up very quickly, though, and we went on to intermediate obedience, and he did very well at that, too. Good luck - I'm sure your puppy will be great!
