| Do belly bands cause regression? I recently started using belly bands when i discovered my 3-pound boy was marking around the house. i kept an eagle eye on him but he's so tiny it's hard to tell when he's lifting that leg. i noticed it when i started putting t-shirts on him....there would be sprinkles of wetness on the belly when i took them off. at first, he did fine with the belly bands....sometimes they would be dry, sometimes a little wet spot on them. recently he's been in peeing in them (holding his pee and using it like a diaper, not just the small amount of wetness from marking) and not peeing when i take him outside. he doesn't poop in the house and is crate trained so no poop/pee in the crate. anyone have experience with this? he is 13 months old and neutered. |

| i thought the point was to catch the pee so they couldn't leave a scent and come back, and because they didn't like the wetness against them so they stop going in the band. i guess i am wondering who has had success with them, how long it takes, and how i know he's done with them. i was hoping they would just starting staying dry and i would know. it seems like he's regressed and started peeing in them instead of outside. |

| I have a male chihuahua who is 13 months old and not neutered and I have been using a belly band on him for over 6 months and I swear he uses his belly band as a diaper. I always seem to find the pad completely soaked in pee, yet I will not notice him go to his papers to go potty... then again it could just be that when he's wearing his belly band he thinks it's ok to mark and is sneaking around the house marking. I was hoping the belly band would stop him from marking and make him pee when I gave him potty breaks, but it hasn't I just leave his belly band off most of the time now cuz then he will actually pee on his papers. I would also like to know if anyone has had any success with bellybands doing something other than catching the pee.

| Woody was doing that too. Also my Woody is 13 mos old Woody though was doing this when my girls were in season. I realized that the belly band should only be used for preventing an accident. So I started putting Woody out as if he was a puppy, several times a day. He then got the idea not to piddle in the belly band. The belt went on as he came in though. Also when the girls are over with their season, he came back to his senses. Did you ever think that maybe he smells a female in season near you? It is frustrating, because it last 3 whole weeks

| The belly band worked for me w/ two of my dogs. Harley, who HATED having his belly wet caught on very quickly. He is now totally outdoor potty trained (by his own decision btw lol I had intended to have both but apparently he wants to be like the big dogs) And my dog Zeus (not a yorkie but a rescue) has a problem w/ 'squirting' when he gets scared or nervous and the belly band ended that too. If your baby is using a wee wee pad you have to be careful to remove the band when he's around it so he doesn't just start getting lazy and using the belly band. But I have heard that they aren't for everyone.
