The owner is not here to defend herself so it is not fair to comment anymore on the situation but maybe we can discuss what we learned and what we could have done better and how we do a joint front to help.

I really do not like loosing a dog that I think could have got help and could have been saved.

So for the next time and there will be what do we do differnet.

Also in this case someone who really cares about dogs will not let her dislike of certain people cloud the issue of saving a dogs life because of what has been said here...Again you can read about a lot of the rescues on YT and each case is handled dfferently. You really are not going to see a lot of discussion on this thread because of the difference and the situation. Unless you are involved with a rescue it is best to leave it to them...just like breeding. Unless you are very experienced in it is best left alone.

The bottom line to me is that I am not even a 100% convienced this person even had this dog...to many things do not make sense if you go back and read her posts...you know how you get that gut feeling...well I have it in this case. :confused:

What LJ mentioned about the truth that owners who surrender offer...is almost always suspect. Most of the time it is due to the guilt they shoulder for their inadequacies as a pet owner and the realization of failing their animal.

What I don't get is why anyone would doubt the efforts of a rescue or other members on YT who are passionate about aiding dogs in need like Roriee or Mindy. Seriously...what do you (general you) really think the goal is really about?

My best advise to you (general you) would be to find a hobby or online community where you (general you) can get whatever your needs are met, and that will never interfere with the welfare of innocent animals and the dedicated people who do want to make a positive difference in their lives.

And just about anything else you can imagine. So have loads of other long time members here.

So please, do NOT fool yourself into thinking you hold all the answers and that you are going to come here and "teach" anyone a darn thing about how "things should be" and don't flatter yourself into thinking that your antics impress anyone. The ONLY person you are fooling is yourself.

For the life of me, I do not understand what makes some people tick. I don't go to the breeders forum and tell people how to breed. Why are people who don't have a clue about rescue doing this? I swore after the last one I would not involve myself again. Not sure why I bother. There are SO many people emailing us every day looking for help. That is private and NO ONE can jump in and sabotage. I suppose it makes more sense to just stick with that and pray for those on here...but, that is darned hard to know an animal is at risk. :( Hard to walk away from it.

Thanks on that as I know you know it was not me that had come out of any wood work nor did I take this at all lightly nor not talk to others about it nor withdraw without good reason. I know you are aware of what I can possiblly bring to the table for the most part in my skill set.

I was asked in a while ago to help and I continued right up to the games got going.

What I am after in this post is do we form a joint YT group of rescues to do a one voice here is what can be offered. We hold a quick chat meeting and see who is where and what we can put on the table or help as and when a dog comes up and go from there with one voice.

That is the reason I posted this thread and any finger point back stabbing crude can stop.... BACK to rescue work.

I’m sure everyone tried to help in what they thought was right, but it seems to me that there were “too many cooks in the kitchen”. Some one needs to be the chef – someone with rescue experience. We all want to help – but are not professionally knowledgeable – sometimes we do more damage than good.

I was glad to see this thread start because I thought it would be full of positive information that could be used to help with the next rescue, if not possibly help resume Mindy plight. Whether it be who can travel to pick up the puppy – who has contacts with a rescue, who is good at talking to the current owner to persuade them to surrender the dog without causing a lot of problems….after all the main concern at that point is the poor dog that needs to get out of whatever situation it’s in.

I’m not without fault – I posted slamming Mindys owner when I saw the post that said she had decided to put her to sleep. In an ideal situation the correct and qualified person should have been notified to try to convince her that her situation isn’t hopeless. I know (or think I know) that several people have tried – but I can only imagine that this owner felt like Mindy feels in a house with 2 litters of puppies….overwhelmed and lost as to where to turn or who to trust. That is where a TEAM comes in. Someone (key word is ONE) is a mediator and the rest there for support.

OK – I’m done – I guess as someone not here long – I have a lot to learn. Maybe there needs to be a special forum for feuds.

This thread, I can only guess, started because there were a lot of hurt feelings that someone would just give up on Mindy, or seemingly give up on Mindy. While not everyone posted in Mindy's thread, a lot of people read and read hoping for a happy ending. There were a lot of angry feelings, and venting is a way of healing. It seems that this is the second rescue attempt that has gone awry and just ended badly this year. Why is that? Someone, somewhere is undermining rescue efforts. Why else would people be suddenly afraid or unwilling to turn to a rescue when they are in over their head?
