No Longer a Member | Replacement for Potty Pads? Has anyone ever used something like this? Amazon.com: Rascal Dog Litter Box "Little Squirt"... I figure this could be a good replacement for the potty pads, my puppy doesn't destroy them, but with it probably going to take me about a year or maybe two before he is 100% reliable to not go inside I'd rather just have a one time fee, or just a replacement cost for the "grass" when it gets worn out from washing. Plus, last night I stepped on a "used" pad on my way to the bathroom YUCK!I swear he must have moved it, cause I place them in a place where he will see them but wouldnt be in my walking path. (my house is funny, my bedroom has another room that then leads to my "storage room" then I get to my first hallway that leads to my bathroom) I place them in the second room and the baby gate is in that door way so he is stuck in the two bedrooms. Anyways...back to topic: Just curious what others are using. I figure if he can use this when I'm not at home to let him outside then it can be set up next to my cat's top entry litter box and he can have full access to the house when I'm not at home...(this is for the future, once teething is done and knows how to behave with full access, Rizzo is still only 5 months) Any suggestions to anything that is sturdy and somewhat wallet friendly that can replace a pee pad would be great. Thanks in advance for your help! |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | What a neat idea - I'd have to get 2 since Bridget won't poop where she pees - but even then it would be cheaper than those yucky pads. Bridget also drags them around the room. I even have a holder and she grabs the pad in the middle and pulls it apart. When I get home she has them all over her room, even upside-down (she has a room full of toys and plays with the pee-pad!!!). But....she still uses them...lol - even on the plastic side!! Thanks for posting posting your find!!

| I use the fake grass either just on top of a washable pee pad or I also bought a little tray like that at the pet store for $12. I think it's normally to put their food and water on to keep it from spilling on the floor. Anyways, I just put a little grass mat on that and it works great for mine. I have 3 total, one in my bedroom, one in the downstairs hallway and one in an xpen for the puppies. Even my puppies just seem to instinctively know where to go! |

| I use washable piddle pads. With those grass things, you have to take them outside or put them in the bathtub to clean them and it just seems gross to me. With the washable pads, all I do is pop them in the washer! As for the cost....buy them once.....that's it! I do have a place that sells the hospital pads at a very reasonable price, but they are not necessarily pretty. You can buy nice ones from 107Barney or RDB911, YTers.

| I just got the Little Rascal a few weeks ago. Cricket uses it sometimes. But she still prefers the pad, I think. (I know you dont want the cost, but I put the piddle pad under the grass. Then I can still toss it and not have to wash out the bin. But I do have to rinse the grass once a week.) Now Bailey on the other hand.... I just brought Bailey home from the airport last night. He uses the Rascal just like he should. I didn't have to show him it or anything. Just went right to it! So I think it depends on your dog and their personality.
