| Just can't do it any more! Mindy has become worse and I just cannot keep her here any more. I have 2 litters of pups right now and she is now attacking them. I have to keep her away from them which is almost impossible. I put them in the ex-pen to play today and for me it was the last straw with her. She grabbed one through the wire and pulled the pup very hard by the hair growling. When I clean their area or feed them she tries to get in. She sits outside of their play/living area in the kitchen and whines and again tries to get them through the wire (I use ex-pens). I cannot keep her away. When I picked them up today to take them out to the deck she grabbed at the 3 I had in my arms and tried to rip it from my hand by biting at the pups. She does NOT want to play with them, she wants to hurt them! She is starting serious fights with ALL of my other dogs in the house and they have had enough too. When I let them out of their crates in the morning she starts barking like mad and attacks them. There is mainly 3 she goes after, especially Rose one of my cockapoos and Rose is the most laid back easy going dogs, but Rose will not put up with it and will defend herself. Mindy has also been growling at ME lately when I move her. Like if she is laying by my feet while I am on the computer and I love my feet to get up she growls like she is gonna snap. So far hasn't but who knows, it's a matter of time with her. I believe she is a ticking time bomb! The vet cannot find anything physically wrong with her other than a LP on her back right knee, but it does not hurt her. And she had bitten 2 more male friends. When I know someone is coming over I put her in my room and she barks like mad the whole time. No rescue wants her, who can blame them. I just do not know what to do. My husband refuses to allow me to spend the money on a trainer or behaviorist, and I have to agree with him. I am taking her to my vet on Thursday to discuss this further with him. I already know what he is going to say since he mentioned it last time we were in...sigh... |

| Can you place her in a home where she is the only dog...even for a short time to see how she does? It sounds like she definitaly wants to be alpha female. Is she spayed? I would try to place her with a friend or family member to see how she does by herself...maybe that's the answer for her. Good luck... |

| What rescues have you contacted in WA? There has to be someone that is willing to take her but I need to know who you have already spoken to so that I do not duplicate your efforts. Please either list them here or PM them to me. I need to know where you live in WA to that I can look near you.

| Yes, please DO share with us the rescues that you have contacted. I have tried in the past to tell you that there are rescues that will take her and work with her. They do not necessarily have to be in your back yard! Have you contacted United Yorkie Rescue? If they could take her, I will figure out a way to help get her to them. I know that they used to have a foster home in TN that worked with problem pups. Our group would take her except that the only homes that could deal with Mindy's issues are full at this time. Please let us know who you have contacted.....and give us details and let us try to help Mindy!

| And just one thing that jumped out at me: Why is she running loose in your home tormenting pups that are confined? She needs to be the one confined! She clearly does not have limits set and is taking full advantage of you at this point!

| PLEASE do not have her put down just because she's a problem in your home. There are so many people that would love to have her. Maybe the others are right, she needs to go to a home where she is the only dog. PLEASE think twice before considering this option. I don't feel in my heart that is a good reason to have a dog put down. Ladyjane and I think alike. It sounds like she is the one that needs to be crated if that's the only way you can feel safe around her until you find her a good home.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | i know how hard it is to deal with a dog with behavior issues. You have done a lot for this little girl but please do not put an end to helping her. Please work with Jodi and LJ here to get this girl into a rescue that can help her. having her PTS should be a last resort after you have tried all the rescues available for a dog like her. have you tried medicating her?

| Yes of course she needs to be confined if she is acting this way. I'm wondering if after YorkieMother offered help if there was any more communication. Karla, why would you post something like this and then go off line?

| I hope you can find someone that will help her. Quite honestly, I am stunned that your vet would recommend such a drastic thing!! I CANNOT even fathom my vet(s) suggesting this...and if they did, I would have to find a different vet that didn't view a fur kid as being this disposable. I understand that you are probably frustrated, but there are rescues out there that work with this type of behavior. |
