| How to train a 3 months old to pee outside? Without a kennel. My puppy is 100% paper trained, and I would like her to start peeing outside. I live on the 32nd floor, so How I take her down after she pees on the paper? would she remember the situation all the way down? and last question - at what age should I start training her? |

| Move the paper/piddle pad closer and closer to your front door. Once your pup is accustomed to going near the door, start taking her outside. Try taking her to the same spot outside and choose a keyword like "potty" to say each time. When she goes potty, praise her profusely. If you don't use the crate, you will have to keep a close eye on her inside your home. Also, at 3 months, she will have to go often. 32nd floor? I hope you have a fast elevator! I'm kidding. Best wishes. |

| I dont know , maybe try the Potty Patch, that seems like a long ride down... at least the potty patch is similar to grass... I think Id stick to the potty patch because I take my puppy out at least 8-10 times a day .. when I potty trained her outside I got up at 12-3-6 am it was ALOT OF WORK.

| Start training outside now, and try to anticipate her need to potty. Don't wait until after she uses the paper. |

| Great suggestions! Few people told me that 3 months is too soon becuase they cant hold it yet. Is it true? By the way, before I got her, I used to live on the 49th floor! |

3 months is an appropriate age for potty training, but don't expect her to be able to hold it for hours. Young ones need to go more frequently. | |

| Its too cold and she doesnt want to... I take her down and say potty (in my language), and nothing. I think its because its too cold. I have a feeling I will have to wait two months until it worms up... |

| Just curious, how long does it take to get from your floor to outside?

Senior Yorkie Talker | Tara actually goes quicker when it's cold, because she wants to go back in, she does it stright away. In summer she takes longer because then she would rather sniff around and stay outside. You are best training her when it's cold, see when she looks like she wants to go (she'll be sniffing and walk in circles looking for a spot) then take her out right away. (3 months old will need to go at least every 2 hours, make a schedule for her and take out in regular intervals) Give her about 10 minutes then take her back, keep repeating the command, she will only learn it after she does pee and gets treat/reward for it. You need to be consistent otherwise this will fail. Give her a short walk if she can't go stright away, try to keep her on the grass if that's where you want her to go! Good luck!
