| Nintendogs and Bender Hi all, I had to post this because it's just the strangest thing ever. About 3 weeks ago I bought my husband Nintendogs for his Nintendo DS. For those of you who haven't heard of Nintendogs it is a real time puppy simulator, which means, you leave the dogs unattended, unfed, unloved for a long period of time, and even if the game has been turned off the puppies will get sad and run away. Anyhow...I didn't realize it was voice activated until I started playing it the first time, and was so excited upon finding out it was, that I named my little Yorkie puppy Bender, after my real dog. Well, I spent about an hour teaching my puppy his name and trying to get him to learn tricks, etc, (at which time I'm sure I looked like a total nutcase talking to a handheld gaming device as if it were a puppy). Well, I finally realized there was this very confused ball of fur next to my wheelchair. I looked down, and the real Bender was so confused! I kept saying 'Bender, sit. Bender, sit. Sit, Bender, c'mon boy, sit.' When he was very clearly sitting already Anyhow, I played it for about a week before the virtual Bender had to go to a puppy motel for a long stay, and we had to get a new Nintendog (Sparks), because I couldn't take petting the virtual dog with the stylus and the real dog with the other hand. The good thing is, now Bender sits, sneezes, and lays down on the very first command (before he was a bit slow on the last 2). Seems he learned from Nintendogs |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Too funny. Poor (real) Bender was confused! Glad you worked it out, and you may have stumbled on a new training plan: The ignore techique!

| That is really funny. You know I was actually thinking of getting nintendogs (and the ds need that to) but I don't know what kind of puppy to get. Maybe you can help me out a little! huh?

| All the puppies are unlockable on every version, the difference is just the ones you start off with, so just pick the breed you like best and buy the version with that breed |

| That's funny, poor Bender. I have the game also. I didn't name my puppy after my real puppy Reagan though. However she got really jealous. I don't know, I guess she heard me talking to it and heard the barking(oh and yes I felt pretty dumb talking to it as well, I made my husband talk to it a couple times so I didn't feel so dumb) anyway I guess with all that she got jealous. Oh and she was a pain for a couple of days, I don't know if it was the jealousy or just a coincidence but either way it wasn't too amusing.

| That is soooooo funny!!! My son has been begging for that also and has been playing with one that his friends owns...from what I understand, the Nintendogs with the Chi on the front is the one that has a yorkie and several other breeds to choose from when you are playing. I don't think they have a single game with each different breed on it but they do have about six or eight...I think...different breeds on each game. You can check it out on ebay. My son makes it sound like it's just the best thing in the whole world

There are three different versions. They start out with their own 6-8 breeds but as you continue playing you get more trainer points and such and you unlock new breeds. I don't know if they unlock in a certain order if its randomly choosen though but eventually if you continue playing long enough your are supposed to be able to unlock the breeds from each of the three version so that you will be able to have them all. I'm sure it takes a lot of time though, so if you want to play with a yorkie right off the bat them get the Chi.
