| agression towards clothes? Today I was trying to put a sweater on Pixie and she went nuts, almost like the Tasmania devil. She started growling and sneering at me and even tried to bit me. So I calmed her down and tried again........same thing. So I had my husband hold her while I put it on and she was fine. When I held her she started licking me like she was sorry. Has anyone ever had this happen before? I am really concerned bc it was like a different dog. Once I put her down she went nuts until she got the sweater off. I don't understand it she has worn clothes before. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions. I am so worried that she is having an aggression problem. Pixie is 12 weeks old. she has been a real sweet dog until this point. I don't want her to relate to clothes as a bad thing bc it is so cold in CT.

YT 500 Club Member | Alfie doesn't like clothes either, though with it getting colder here I've been putting t-shirts on them at night for warmth. Try putting it on the floor first and letting your pup sniff it and see its not anything to be afraid of, maybe it feels strange when its put over the head. Alfie does'nt like having his leggs manouvoured into the arms so I take it slowley. First his head, wait till he relaxes, then I put one hand through the arm, lift his foot and hold until he relaxes, when he does he gets lots of praise, then repeat for the other legg. Stay calm and be patient. Alfie still curls his lip but quickly stops and doesn't try to bite anymore. |

| Uni doesn't have aggression towards clothes, but she does towards ridiculous and silly costumes. She know when we are laughing at her. For instance, the lobster costume last year, and the AT AT walker costume this year. When it's on she hardly moves. When it comes off she snarls and barks at it and bites it and tries to tear it apart. maybe Pixie has a little booboo on her paw or something and doesn't want you to touch her? perhaps that's why she is being aggressive?

| I think when it is cold though they have to wear clothing, it is fridgid in my area during the winter months, Bailey doesn't go outside without getting dressed warmly first! And he has to go out because I take him with me, because I don't like to leave him alone.

It took me awhile to get my two yorkie girsl to accept clothing-I live in upstate Ny and for them to go outside at all they needed at least a sweater. I would figth and get the sweaters on and eventually they associated the sweaters with going outdoors and my issues were resolved. And now, they go crazy when they see their clothing and dance up and down! Try that routine if you can. best of luck! Tammy Burkhart | |

use heating bags and take it slow with getting them use to cloths that it will be ok. But calling the dislike of cloths and the behaviour it causes as aggression is not accutate and leads to punihment of the dog not training. JL

| Reesie doesn't mind a hoody at all. She'll jump up on the window bench cuz she knows it's tough for me to bend over. Well, maybe she doesn't know. LOL! She sits still while I put it over her head, then lifts her right leg and I work on that. When that's on she lifts her left leg... etc. It's cute. But she still pees where ever she thinks I can't see in the house. One good thing, one bad thing. Can't have it all I guess. |

| Maybe try a jacket that doesn't require going over her head? I own that many dogs don't like something going over their head, but are fine with a jacket or coat that buttons up on the belly or back. |

| I agree It's not the clothes themselves it's that you're putting something confining over her head and she's freaking out You'll need to desenitize her to get her to wear these types of clothes in the meantime use clothes that open in the front or back

| Puppy Clothes My baby did that too. He got really agressive and bit me and everything. I did pretty much what everyone else is saying and let him see what I'm putting on before I put it on, and go slow. Hes just fine now. Good luck! |
