Yes, I have heard of it, try to put him to another room while you clean the poop, funny is we also have had the poopy eating problem, now it's more like poop playing I would say.

I know I have put her on Royal Canine and she stopped eating the poop right away! Then I switched to Eukanuba and she started messing with it again but after a while she stopped as I always scold her for it. But when I started to go to college and she is all day on her own she started playing with the poop, also I have mixed in Purina baker's and that's the one she used to eat before and ate the poop (my husband bought it accidently when she run out of the royal canine) I just see it smudged all over the pad and sometimes on the kitchen floor in pieces I don't know how much of it she actually eats. The other day I came early and the poop was still there, so I am thinking she might not eat it straight away but because she maybe bored she amuses herself with her chocolate kisses. I have also heard about wolves eating their own poop so it may have a lot to do with their survival habits as well. I must say deter didn't work for us either, I think just changing to Royal Canine did but then I changed as she was more itchy after that so I tried Eukanuba. Now I am split on what to get her next.

if pineapple does not work try a table spoon of pumpkin.this is good so thry do not get tired of oineapple

my puppy likes to poo in high places. she always tries to climb up the wall before she squats. it's very random! i learned about this the hard way once when i left her unattended for one minute! she climbed up my pale blue sofa chair and pooped on top of it, played with it and got poo paw prints all over the chair! guilty as charged.

Hi - My name is Sully and I'm a Poop-A-Holic. It's been 2 days since I had one of my Nasty Tootsie Rolls. I was having a good stretch over the weekend with the Deter and the Pineapple. That is until "Miss Thing" decided to skip coming home for lunch on Tuesday. What was she thinking?! I couldn't help myself - it was calling my name. I mean really, you think she'd be happy - I'm a freakin' self cleaning dog. You don't see those two lazy kids of hers picking up after themselves....AND OH don't even get me started on the husband - the smells that come out of THAT guy are enough to gag a maggot. I tried telling her that it was Mr. Hanky the Christmas Poo who left those brown smudges on the floor - but she didn't buy it. Maybe I'll start my own group called Poop Eaters Anonymous.

Did you change food yet? I am pretty sure this is Poop Eaters Anonymous isn't it???

Why don't you try opening a can of pumpkin and mixing it together with a good quality can of dog food. Then add that to the kibble with a little water and make a gravy to coat the food. Give the pineapple too as a snack. By the time you are finished with him it will be a toxic dump coming out the other end.

If is tastes nasty enough he will not eat it. It does sound like he is doing it out of boredom. Maybe if you have him a few chewies during the day while you are gone to help occupy his time.

As for that husband and kids we have the same problem around here. I have 2 sons and a husband that ARE toxic waste dumps with legs

Keep your fingers crossed - I think I found the trick - my sister's puppy's vet said to put a couple of drops of Tabasco or Hot Sauce on that nasty snack and leave it there - next time he goes for it....he'll get a "Hot Tamale". We tried it last night and needless to say he took one little sniff and ran away...then 10 minutes later he came back, tried again and this time...tried a lick and sneezed about 7 times and didn't go near it after that.

The pineapple is working for us, she isn't eating it, but now she has started the lovely habit of bringing a piece of poop into her bed! I thought dogs didn't like it where they slept! She goes on the pad, I see the spot from it but then moves it into her bed! Yuckie!!
