| ![]() so I have a teacup yorkie who is almost 2 yrs old. I had the hardest time training him but finally got him indoor-pee pad trained. well I recently moved into a new apartment and he just does not seem to be getting it! he has peed on my new bed/comforter 3 times, a new rug 3 times, in the bathroom a few times BUT he has went on his pad just as many times! I know he knows what he is doing is bad because as soon as I walk into the room he looks at me with his ears down. I cant let him ruin this house! PLEASE HELP! |

| ![]() He may be frightened and confused with you recent move. I would keep him in one room, bathroom with gate up or kitchen with gate up and put pad down until he get's back to normal. Free run of the house will never do it I'm afraid. If he were trained before the move he's just confused. There is no such thing as a "Teacup". A Yorkie is a Yorkie. 7lbs and under is the standard. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | ![]() When he makes a mistake do you clean it with an enzyme cleaner? If not, he will smell the scent and think he is suppose to go there. Your comforter becomes a giant pee pad. Regular washing won't do the trick you have to use an enema cleaner, and follow directions. This is especially true when you use pee pads, the only thing that should have the pee scent are the pads, that's why pads you purchase have an attractant built in. Many people who move have reported this problem, and they could be attracted to the areas because other dogs have lived their before. Has your dog been neutered, and are you sure it's not marking? Marking is different than peeing, although many people confuse the two, and they do this for different reasons, but they are literally marking their territory. Wow, lots of us were responding at the same time!

| ![]() Make sure you clean the area with a special cleaner designed to get the smell out, and limit him to the kitchen or bathroom with baby gates till he starts going on his pads again.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | ![]() Yorkies can be difficult to train, I had to PEN and Crate train. This took alot of effort. I think a year and a half. The crate training really works. ![]() |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | ![]() Lol, you definitely don't want the enema cleaner. An enzyme cleaner has special bacteria or enzymes that actually "eat" the protein in urine, vomit, poop, and blood. So your dog will no longer smell the protein, and no longer be attracted to return to the spot. Thank you Moses for clearing that up!
