| You have 2 females who are close in age and bothwant to be top dog.Shock collar are not the answer. You need to be top dog and let them know you will not tolerate this.I have 3 females and when tthey go at it which is usaully when some one is in heat or coming in.If I speak to knock it off they know to walk away. But i can tell once ones hurt the other. They do not foget. My Daisy comes from a family where she was sold to and the 2 female where fight to kill. I took her back 4 yrs ago.And to this day if the other female is in my shop she is going to get her.

You may want to seperate them to give yourself and them a break from each other if you are not already. I know only to well what it is like to have an Alpha in the house and it is very exhausting emotionally to try to keep the peace. IMO shock collars are not the answer, there are to many other things to try that aren't inhumane imo. I think it is established that your dogs will have fights, so if you aren't breeding then get them both spayed asap.. it might not change things, but then again it may.. i think it would be worth trying to see.

| yorkies have senstive treacheas..you shouldnt but a shock collar on them because it would damage it and i think its a little imhumane to use that on such a small breed JMO Quote:

i would say they are to young to be really fighting but are probably rough housing...litter mates do it all the time..they pounce on each other and make all kinds of growling noises..at 8 weeks i dont think they are a danger to each other on the op imo i think you need to seriously consider rehoming one, you shouldnt turn to abuse on the dogs, when you have reached that point then you need to let one go...the shock collar, the horn, and a muzzel is not the answer, you are only making things worse and then they may even grow to not like you and your husband... fix one or rehome one, before they have real agressive problems and arent rehomable | |

| one more thing i thought of keep them separated...get crates or 2 xpens and only let one at a time out..then slowly start letting them out together and when you can watch them. when you cant watch them separate them. when they cant be nice separate them. leave them in their during the night as well so that you have no worries at night and when you leave the house |

| Sounds like the heat had a lot to do with this and I have heard a lot about female dogs not getting along If it was me I'd get them fixed but I'd also make sure they stop whatever they are doing when I call I have two boys and they get into scraps sometimes that I have to stop It's like the drop command but I have them just stop whatever they are doing I've reinforced it with a pointed finger and it seems to be working very well

| I don't know what your answer is but I would not leave the house and not seperate them. Kayla's breeder was telling me that one of her poodle's jumped on Kayla's mother. (4lbs) and then the other 2 joined in. They almost killed her and would have if she had not gotten to them. Its scary when they fight and females are just as bad if not worse than males. |

| Reading these posts are always a relief for me. I have two females (sisters) and one of them gave birth 4 months ago. We are having some difficulties as the balance of power is being established. The male is full of beans and is now bigger than the mother. He torments his aunty by pulling her topknot and ears. The mum doesn't partecipate in the fun until squeaky toy appears. Squeaky is hers, and only hers but the puppy hasn't gotten the message. We have had some real battles over possesion and position and I fear for the mum as her offspring outweighs her and is still growing. How do you break them up? and how do you let him know that he should keep his place in the pack? I would hate to see her humiliated. Any suggestions are appreciated. |
