I'm feeling yr pain as well, even tho I did chuckle @yr humor. My daughter thinks Cole justs barks @the air....he is an absolute angel except for the "barking". Barks @ reflection in fireplace glass, mirrors (she had to cover her floor-length mirror he was driving her nuts), television (not only animals, but animation characters, even with sports (balls), doorbells (even on tv)! He can be in a deeeeep sleeep & out of nowhere....runs to the tv barking if one of "his" commercials comes on. My DH thinks he remembers them by heart! She definitely needs to try one of these new products. Bella never did these things, but we babsit Cole alot so now she's learning!!
I'm hoping you find the magic cure here!!

My new girl Princess is a barker...and Cleo is second in command in the barking department. Princess noticed her reflection in the oven and barked. She too barks at the wind. I have the can with the coins, but where the heck is that thing when you need it?!?

I also use the SHHHHT sound, she looks at me and goes right back to her barking post.

We are moving to our summer residence with my boyfriend's mom so we can rent my house. That should be quite nervewracking for an 84 year old. Hoping the interior doors between her part of the house and ours will be sufficient. Forget it if the windows are opened. Dreading this summer!

Buddy use to be like that but I swear by the pennies in a can.
Someone on YT suggested that to me about two years ago and
it worked. I had purchased a no bark devise that sat on the counter
and gave off a high pitch noise, did not work, I bought a plug in that
sent a scent off like that of a mother dog to calm the pups down,
did not work, I tried the spray bottle, did not work but Bud got
soakin wet and did not care, then the pennies in a can. Boy did that
catch his attention and fast. He sees me reach for that can and he
runs and hides. LOL It has so many dents in it because at times I hear
him barking when I get all the way down stairs and I have to go back up,
grab the can and throw it in his directions. He runs for his life!
LOL Thank heavens for the pennies in a can.
It's the only thing that he's afraid of.

WOW I must be a weirdo, I love the sound of my babies barking, to me they are just being dogs, they bark at animals on t.v. their favorite show to bark at is "The Dog Whisperer", Sabrina's bark sounds like one of those fake wind up doggies, it's just too cute, blaine, Charlie, and Lucy have big dog barks, the biggest yapper out of those three is Blaine, he barks at other dogs, he barks at me when he wants to play ball and I hold the ball in my hand for too long, he barks at the ice cream truck when the ice cream truck comes around, well they all bark at the ice cream truck (they love vanilla ice cream) a treat I give them once a month off the ice cream truck mister frosty. Anyway I'm rambling, I can't believe I'm the only one who likes the sound of my babies "talking".

Oh my bog if cole was my dog I would love the fact that he jumps up out of his sleep just to bark at his favorite commercials, that is too funny I would record that if I were you, tooo cute.

You can't use it on a little dog BUT the battery was failing and my Chelsey is a big time barker soooo I tried it on her. It shocked her and she hasn't barked much since and that was 6 months ago. She still barks but not as much. Of course I don't recommend this for a dog under 12 lbs. But with these two of mine the pan, spray bottle, spray collar, pennies in a can, screaming, and multiple other things didn't work.

If anyone has a different cure for constant barking I would like to try it.
Why is it that you can't use a bark collar on a smaller Yorkie?

I love the sound, when it's not at every little whim...and then three at once....wooo. It just says a well mannered dog when I get them out in public and they don't bark their fool heads off. It's very intimidating to someone I am sure....Still working on it.

I love my can with the pennies in it

The smallest bark collar I've seen in our local pet supply store should only be used on dogs 8 lbs. and up. I don't think they exist for any dogs that weigh less than that (though I could be wrong here) and yorkies are generally 3-7 lbs.

Mine are both big kids, Raja @ 11lbs. and Nahla @ 9lbs.

Update on our barking situation: Nahla wore her shock collar for a whoping 3 days before quiting the habit! So far we haven't had to remind her by putting it back on. I'm so glad we didn't have to use it "forever". I've also had Raja sport it a couple times and he doesn't bark at his triggers anymore (slamming car doors or horns beeping). It was worth every penny, even to be used so little!

Is Maggie food driven? If so, I was taught to allow her to bark three times (that's what dogs are suppose to do), say the words "thank you" and offer her a treat. It will take alot of consistency but it works for mine. Believe me, if they are word driven like my four, then they look forward to me saying thank you.

All of my 3 dogs are ferocious barkers, one, usually Chewy will start this wild mad dash at something he heard and the other 2 will join right in, I have a shock collar for Chewy and we've gotten to the point where I don't have to turn it on and he'll not bark at all when he's got it on, I have one for Choupette as well but she takes no mind to it, she'll just bark non stop and god knows it must hurt but she does'nt seem to care.

I managed to find a remote shock collar for Tucson, who weigh's about 4 lbs, it's very tiny and I control the remote, it has four intensity on it plus a sonic good dog and bad dog sound, it's made by Innotek. I only had to use it once when the barking really got out of control, since then the sonic sound is enough to let him know that if he does not stop the shock will follow. So far so good, but with no collar they don't listen at all. Go figure!!
