I think you missed the impetus of the threads here .....its wasn't the "question", it was the condescending and combative manner in which you ASKED them. I've asked God Knows how many questions of Stacy at Sylvan, (ad Nauseum), and she has been nothing but patient , forthcoming, and honest with me. Should I require a dossier and/or criminal background check...I'm sure I could arrange that....but ...I think I'll make that private matter...instead of alerting the ENTIRE Yorkshire Terrier Internet Community! Francie P.S. Are my eyes bad...or is that "Waiting List" LONGER! Normal protocal for serious inquiries is to actually speak with the Breeder one on one. | |

| I haven't read all the posts carefully.. but I am gonna make a comment here. First of all... I doubt that Stacy (Sylvan Yorkies) is a member of YT for commercial reasons.. I really don't think so. She is here to share her knowledge and love about yorkshire terriers and biewers. She has guided a lot of new owners and anyone else here. She also tells us her funny stories as many of us do here. So it is really up to her to talk about her breeding here or not. She does have a wonderful website, and serious candidates should be able to ask her as many questions as possible. I also have realized that her old posts were deleted back in last year because YT keeps only 500 posts for each member. So I wish I could find her post that really made me feel... Wow... Ah.. I guess I am good.. I found it.. from my own posts.. Here it goes. "There are some promised to people on our waiting list, but I try to match the personality of the pup to the situation of it's adoptive household. So it's not really 1st come 1st serve. That might not seem fair, but the best interest of everyone involved is my primary concern. Each pup has it's own personality, some are quieter, some can climb walls, some don't like being alone and some don't care if you leave if there's a cool toy to chew on. Some are very strong willed alpha types who need a home where their humans know about consistency in love and discipline. I might seem a little nuts in making this whole process so complicated, but it really has to be more than "Oh, that one's cute, I want it". I just want people to have the dog that will really suit them the best so everybody wins in the long run. Once decisions are made a handshake will do to hold your pup 'til they are ready for their new home." -Sylvan- This told me most of things I wanted to know. Her energy and love toward yorkshire terrier, I could feel that through this post. Then I get to know her more by pms.. emails.. and so on. Before it gets long.. I am gonna stop here now.. and write an another post!

| It is NOT the requirement for breeders to talk about achievement of their breeding stock on YT. It is something that she would discuss to serious candidates. Everyone's purpose of purchasing the yorkies are different. I don't think Stacy needs to tell every single person or on YT about what Vet thinks about her breeding programs or her yorkies. It goes by individual bases. She has pet quality pups and potential show quality yorkies. I have been on YT since last September I think.. and she is the one of the two breeders whom I admire and learn a lot of from. And again.. she doesn't need to discuss about all the details about her pups' body styles on this site. I have never seen people do that. That would be strange. Oh and remember? Every yorkie is different... Anyway.. if you have SERIOUS TRUST issue.. then you could bring a pup to your own vet as you have done that before. Stacy has 10 days no question asked return policy. She has a very good relationship with her vet, so I doubt that you would believe what vet would say anyway.. (my guess, of course). And again.. I am the one who is singing her praises ALL THE TIME>. and what do you want me to come forth with my experience on what? I am confused. Quote:

| I know I sound like a mad woman!!!! But.. I just need to reach.. 1000 posts.. so I am gonna keep posting (Just kidding).. of course.. that is not my purpose.. but I just feel that.. I need to speak OUT! Well.. Hon.. I aws someone who was interested in her breeding program. I have found my answers from her posts, and later website... and pms... People often ask ME questions about Sylvan Yorkies since I praises her so much. I am a very honest person, and I have been happy to tell people what I know. Quote:

| I think.. I am pretty much done with what I wanted to say.. but here is one more time.. Candidates can evaluate breeders as careful as they want to. But Stacy also carefully chooses candidates too. Anyway.. I mean.. I don't need to repeat whatever I have said million times before. Stacy always impresses me because of her knowledge, her love and care.... I think if you are looking for a show quality yorkie and you are doubtful about it, then move on. Some people have more experiences than others, year wise.. but some people have more passions and knowledge than others who might be doing this for long time. So years don't really matter to me. Some people might have tons of champion line yorkies, it doesn't mean that she/he is a good breeder. You have to really look into overall. Oh and.. I also want to point out that.. I love her breeding programs. She has different types of yorkies. Some of them are biggger than others. I think it balances out. She has one female yorkie that she has had her since she started her breeding program. She might not birth a show quality yorkie, but has brought beautiful pet quality yorkies to this world. My understanding is that she is not just all about show quality yorkies. And at the same time.. there are beautiful yorkies that could have been shown, or have great chances of birthing show quality yorkies.. you cannot just under estimate her program. Oh.. and Stacy is pretty open about it.. and I hope she didn't mind me saying too much about it. People can feel free to ask me questions.. if anyone is SERIOUSLY interested in a pup from Sylvan Yorkies... but remember.. she has a waiting list and screening candidates I mean.. I have gone there with 7 + hrs drive to visit her program in Jan, I am going back there next week.. then going there again... in June.. Do you think I would do that if her program were bad?

| Can we please keep this as a breeder review. I realize that we all have questions regarding this breed and we are all in the process of learning new information all the time (at least I hope we are). This thread was started to review a specific breeder, let's keep it that way. If you have questions that remain to be answered please start a new thread or inquire privately. Thanks YT members |

| Stacy~ I would just like to say that I appreciate what you do for the breed and for those (like me) who are still "green" and willing to learn. You have always treated me with respect and been more than willing to pass on your knowledge to me whenever I had questions and for that I am truly greatful. Your willingness to lend some advice and your beautiful pups speak volumes and from the looks of it, I would say most everyone is in agreement there. You know you can't please everyone, no matter what they decide to name themselves...uh...be it breeder, future owner, whatever. You know you should be proud of what you do! |
