I went to her website already. I guess I'll just have to call her. She hasn't posted up any achievement of her breeding stock, be it health or otherwise and I was just thinking that since she's as wonderful as everyone says, and I mean EVERYONE, then why not do her dogs justice and post those up? Cuteness isn't everything, nor is it a start. I want to know what the vet's have said about their hips/elbows/hearts/eyes/liver and so on first! It's not enough for me to have the breeder assume from her experience that there her dogs knees are tight. I've met breeders (that have been doing it for "30 years"...well, apperently not right for 30 years) that say their dogs have tight knees and hips and that the hips aren't a problem for Yorkies and so I REALLY wanted a puppy out of a certain litter, but that I wouldn't purchase w/o verification of x-ray that all things were fine on this one dog and so because I was a show home she went ahead and did it. I even PAID for these x-rays, no biggie. Well, her "tight" dog turned out to be fair at best on the hips from FOUR different vet's opinions and one knee slipped like no body's business. And she had bred this dog already before. *grr* So, while I am not putting her Yorkies in that catagory, I wish that those that are singing her praises would come forth w/ their experiences on this. And OF COURSE, I'll probably give Sylvan Yorkies a call this weekend and speak w/ her! She really does sound delightful.

By your remarks you sound as though youre on a witch hunt! Why dont YOU spell out your qualifications at the young age of 24 to make such strong assumptions! Stacy has posted many posts reguarding her breeding stock health and bloodline it may do you some good to research the archives here before you make such accusatory remarks!

Wow...I would ask why this got dug up and attacked from over 2 months ago, but I think I already know the answer. Welcome back...how many times is this for you? 3? 4?

Witch hunt? Please... ?!? What accusitory remarks? Are you insane? There were ZERO accusitory remarks made. I simply asked a question and those that love Sylvan Yorkies (no issue there) are going to naturally take a blanket typed question and twist it to assume that I had any sort of hate or discontent in my words. Chill. If you could hear my words, that's not how it came out at all. Why are you on the defense? Because I simply asked some ligitimate questions? Didn't you do the same before you purchased YOUR Yorkie? Okay then. (enter frustrated sarcasim here) I'll call her this weekend and answer my questions there since no one that has bought from her on her is capable of answering those health questions. I'm sure she'll be able to answer my questions.

Well, considering that you dug up a thread from over 2 months ago and start questioning the breeder, you have to admit, it does raise some suspicion. I would venture to say there are numerous other breeder reviews on this forum giving praise to breeders...why did you choose this one kid? Last edited by BamaFan121s; 05-02-2006 at 08:21 AM.

Look I have NEVER heard of Sylvan Yorkies before coming to YT, not a bad thing, just a thing. And I'm NOT out to cause any hate or discontent to her fan club. I just came across this thread, read it and then posted my questions. And there you have it...another curious YT member. I hope she's posts what she likes about our conversation this weekend and you'll see that I'm not out to bad mouth anything she has or has done w/ Yorkies...I don't know her OR her dogs for Chri$ts sake.

The last post...before your recent addition was 2/24...the only way it would have brought it up as a new post is if you hadn't been on since 2/24...am I right?

You're right. And I don't know what to say. Is it possible that it could've been bumped by a post...yesterday I think...and then have been deleted? I have no freakin' clue. I just know that that's all I really click on is the New Posts tab and go from there. I don't really surf this site other than that any more.

Your remarks do sound rather sarcastic, arrogant and accusatory, but it could be just the way you come off on the majority of your posts. I have posted here many times about the lines in my breeding program and health checks done by my vet including x-rays and bile acid testing for liver shunt done through Cornell. I am happy to give my vet's contact information to anyone on my wait list for pups, but I don't recall your application, and I do remember your posts about there being no quality yorkies being bred in the US (so you had to have one imported),so I wonder why you even are bothering to ask me questions... I am very busy this time of year and don't think you need to waste it with a phone call just to yank my chain, but if you have purposeful reasons for your questions, post them out here in the open forum and I would be glad to make the time answer them here.

yorkieK9trainer YT Addict ------------------------------------------------------------------------- So, what titles do her breeding dogs have? What health certificates do her breeding dogs have? She sounds wonderful, but I know nothing of her kennel (terrible word)... I mean Yorkie family. __________________ "Big things come in small packages"

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | It's funny how when someone seems to have numerous people who are happy with them and want to share that feeling - someone just has to come in and try to knock it down. Calling favorable comments a FAN CLUB ? There is NO club that I know of - but IF THERE WERE - I WOULD JOIN. We need more breeders with her kind of love for the breed. I don't know Stacy personally ...but I have seen her yorkies and know how much she cares. With all the really bad breeders in this country - why knock a good one ? It just makes no sense. |

Again, There Is No Knocking Going On Here. SYLVAN YORKIES: You're correct in me not finding what I want in my next Yorkie to be found here in the US. There are plenty of good breeders, with good genetic lines, but the progeny produced simply doesn't hold that tight little terrier body w/ the flash of the toy that I "need". They either have one or the other. And if they DO have both, then they are intelligently kept by the person who produced them or the show home is already lined up. Seldom do those fall through. OR the dog is offered at a ridiculously high price ($5,000) for a puppy that can go any number of ways. If I were to come across a young adult that had what I was looking for, I don't mind paying that much. If you think you have something that I missed, please jump in and show me. I'm sure at this point you wouldn't want a pup going into this show home. And that's fine. It's entirely possible that your kennel is one of a few that I've overlooked. But why? Most likely because you don't really campaign your dogs in the direction that it would catch my eye. I look for everything mentioned above, but above all I look for health and I see no mention of it in regards to your breeding stock on your website, nor have I heard of you around the Yorkie community in regards to shows or parent clubs. Those are the first places someone like me would look or advise others to look. -What standard do you breed by? -Do you belong to a breed club or endorse them? -What physical tests have been done on your breeding stock? -What in your opinion qualifies them to be bred? -At what age to you begin breeding your males and females? -What kind of health guarantee to you offer? -How many dogs do you own on property? -Out of that many, how many are producing? Those were just a few that I would ask, not in that way, but they'd come out.

You know what? "Why can't we ban together to take down the unscrupulous breeders, and brokers who could care less about this beautiful breed." I've met a few of these people that have been arrested or shut down and you know what? In their warped little minds, they HONESTLY believe they love and care for this breed. Lack of loving the breed is not what sets them apart. It breeding ethically and soundly that does. Love should not factor into this (I'm saying we all LOVE our Yorkies and surely would like to have more of them, and that's not in question here). What is, is if it's done responsibly (AND NO I'M NOT BASHING SYLVAN HERE-get over it) and ethically. So why bother bringing up puppy millers and back yard breeders? We're talking about those that pride themselves on being sound breeders.
