| i couldnt believe what i was seeing i just figured out how to start a thread. i was a petco in my home town shopping and heard a dog crying. you know that cry of ouch im hurt, when i turn around and see right thru the window of the groomers station the groomer shaving the face of a schnauzer as im watching she is clearly hurting him as she is twisting his long beard and whiskers around her fingers he is crying out the whole time i am not the only one watching now, as she looks up at us i scold her thru the glass shaking my head at her in disgust. she quickly lets go and says aww what a good boy. i couldnt believe it i talked to the manager about it and she acted as if she wasnt bothered. i know that you must hold a dog very still for this part of the cut but there is a safe and correct way. well i was not happy with the lack of concern from the manager i was so upset as i was walking out that a gentle man ask me if i was ok. so i shared with him what i had seen. it seemed as he had seen a ghost i didnt know that it was his dog he went straight to the manager i spoke to earlier and she was angry with me that i told him. as if i were in the wrong. i feel like i should do more what else could i have done or still do? i know this is all run on but i am just so upset. anyone know what i could do i this situation

| you did the right thing......if it happened that you ran into the doggies dad and saw you were upset you didnt know it was his dog. shame on the groomer and the manager. if you an see thru the window and hear the dog being treated uncomfortably well they are both not doing there jobs. that is very scary. i will not bring my dogs anywhere to be groomed but moblie groomer who i can see out my window or myself.

| I have seen things like this happen amny times at PetSmart and at PetCo as well. You can be rest assured by the time I got finished saying what I had to say the groomer and and person I complained to were the ones in tears. LOL I would never, ever take my girl's to a place like that to be groomed. You did good by making a complaint.

| I too once saw a pet being handed a little roughly by a groomer at Petco. I made eye contact with the groomer and gave her a look of disgust...very similar to your situation. I think you did the 100% right thing!!! I'm very glad you told the dogs owner!!! The poor dog doesn't have a voice...sometimes they need us to do it for them! You were his hero today! I know there are very good and kind groomers out there....but it is my fear of What I saw that keeps me doing all the grooming myself.

| You did the right thing. Just think how you would have felt if it were your dog being mistreated. I know I would want to know. God just fixed it so you were able to actually speak to the owner. Good for you. I am happy that you cared enough to speak up. I am disappointed that the manager didn't address the matter better. I guess stores like petco and petsmart are more interested in making money than caring about pets. My dog goes to a groomer and sometimes I just pop back earlier just to see what's going on. |

| You did the right thing! I would have taken it one step further and called corporate. I'd tell them what time, day, and what the groomer looked like. And if you got the name of the manager, I would report his apathy too. Isn't Petco or PetSmart a place for pets? This is outrageous!

| I agree, you did the right thing. On a totally different situation but something similiar to "complaining", one time I called about something that happened to discuss it with a supervisor, I wasn't complaining by any means...I felt terrible when I told them why I was calling about and said something to the effect of not wanting to get that person in trouble. Well, the supervisor said to me, "don't look at it as a complaint, but as a suggestion for better service." It kinda made sense. My situation did not involve a live creature but at the same time, if something isn't brought to the attention of those who are in charge, then they will not know. What they choose to do with this knowledge is what is in question. The manager should have taken some sort of corrective action immediately to tell this groomer not to manhandle the dog.

| Honey, you deffinately did the right thing. I think those commercial places are for the birds. I have been going to the same groomer for 19 years. |

| You did the right thing. Just think if you were the owner...wouldn't you want someone to tell you what was going on so you could stop it and rescue your baby? Who cares what the manager thinks of you. She needs to pay attention to what is going on in her store. Hopefully it was a lesson learned for her.

| Not good, that is why I groom my own yorkies, took my one female in and they trimmed of some skin on her back, I was not very happy. I decided to purchase my own trimmer and do the work my self. Now my babies are happy with me doing the job |
