My husband and I lost our previous Yorkie, Daisy, after 13 amazing and wonderful years. It wasn't long before we began to notice how empty our house was and how lonely we were. Her Veterinarian bills for her tummy have been astronomical and behavioral training sessions have been numerous. As she has grown, her bite and her mouth are so far off (once her permanent teeth started coming in) that she has eating issues. So, I decided to do some further research on FancyPups. What I discovered was disgusting! I started with the signature on Abby’s registration papers, because it was not the owners of FancyPups. The person’s name on the registration revealed she was the owner of a puppy mill in Oklahoma. The reports showed deplorable conditions for 79 females, 54 males, and many, many puppies. Several complaints have been filed over the years against the puppy mill Abby came from. Our Vet said this accounts for a lot of her issues; poor digestion, poor socialization skills, and genetic deficiencies. We have owned 3 Yorkies in our lifetime and have never, ever had issues with our puppies like this. It has been a long road and very expensive to turn our baby around. We have spent upwards of $3000.00 on vet bills, dog behavior specialists, and training classes in six months. Abby is finally beginning to show some loving qualities and with continued therapy is starting to relax and calm down. We have a long way to go, but we now see a light at the end of the tunnel. FancyPups OUTRIGHT LIED to US, even when I point blank asked if Abby came from a puppy mill. FancyPups ARE BROKERS, NOT BREEDERS!!!! If this post can help educate even one person about people out there like FancyPups, we feel the time spent to write this letter was worth it!!

Thank you for sharing your story, I'm so sorry for all you and your baby have been through.

Once again this subject makes my blood boil all over again. I have posted about Fancypups time and time again...it makes me so, so angry - and for the life of me, I can't understand how these people remain in business! Not only do I not understand how they can remain in business despite the terrible reviews and bad reputation that must proceed them, I don't understand how these people can continue to do this to families that come to them in good faith trying to buy a healthy little pup. They lie and twist the truth, they mislead you into believing that they care about these little beings, when in fact, they will not return your phone calls or emails at the first sign of trouble. I truly believe they could care less about these little pups. All they want is your money and as soon as you drive out of that drive, it's over. I would not trade my Lola for anything in the world, but we were misled and it has cost us a lot of money to get to where we are with her. My heart hurts for all of the other little sick babies they are selling to people that don't know any better....

I am also amazed that their reputation has not yet buried them. One day they will pay for what they are doing. I don't believe you can behave this way and not pay for it.

Unfortunately, they have continued to stay in business despite these horror stories. It's been 6 years since we bought Lola and I know the terrible stories about them have continued. Liver shunt may not show up for at least a year - long after their 48 hour guarantee. Most people show up, fall in love with these little balls of fur, completely unaware of their unscrupulous business practice. If you are a potential Yorkie buyer, please do not buy from these people....it is like playing roulette with puppies!

I don't think they do. It states that on their website, but so much else on there is false, I'm sure that is too! They may have started out breeding 25 years ago, but who knows??? I know every puppy I've heard of has been brokered by them, including my Lola.

The only pups I know that have come from them were all sickly. So sad that people would continue to make money off of the misery of pups and people. I just cannot comprehend it.

It is sad to hear that so many of these pups from Fancy Pups have to go through so much misery not to mention their owners. These two so called human beings care about nothing but dollar signs. It is something that they can look themselves in the mirror each morning. We also own our 8 month old little girl "Chloe" from these people. From the time we brought her home and a short time later we realized she had a problem. She goes through episodes with her cropped tail in constant pain. Our vet has informed us that she has scare tissue on her tail where it was cropped. Not much can be done except keep her on pain medication. Even through all this we love our little girl. Wish I could confront the S. _. B. who did this to her. All I can say is stay away from brokers, that's what these people are. No heart.

So sorry to hear this about your Chloe. Thank you for sharing your story...we can only hope and pray that people will see these stories and not buy puppies from these people.

Default Say NO to fancy pups

I bought my Yorkie at fancy pups after I lost my first Yorkie after 14 years. I was so wanting another and my husband found fancy pups online. We called and got a little girl. We should have known something was up when we could not see the parents. After a few months she started having skin issues and after several vet visits and more money, she has red mange mites. Vet says it comes from the parents..we have started some treatments because we love her, but just more money.... Would warn anyone from buying there!

Thanks for posting and warning others. Its hard when you lose a pup and you just need another one so bad, but it really helps if you can be patient and do some investigating first. I do hope her health improves and this is the only issue she has, but when they have mites, it really makes me think the breeding animals are being kept in inhumane conditions and are not getting proper vet care.

After I posted about Bella, and the health issues I emailed fancypups. I felt like they needed to know what was going on. I got a call the next morning apologizing for Bella's issues. It seems the other pup from her littler ended up sick just like her. She asked for a diagnosis from the vet and I got a full refund to help cover the costs. I didn't ask, she just said they stood behind the pups, to say the lease I was shocked. She did verify the mother and said it was the first time they had had one of her litter, verifying it was from her. I would never buy from there agin, but I never thought they would do this either...but I thought all should know

I think that in most states they pretty much have to do that, it's a law. Getting reimbursed for necessary vet care, is the least I expect from a breeder. I'm am glad you got some money returned.

You got much more than I did. I never even got a return phone call. My Lola had a liver shunt and I called to let them know. I'm sure they would have suggested that I bring Lola back and they would replace her, which NEVER would have happened! They never called me back, and to be quite honest, I don't care to ever speak to them again. I'm happy to say we had Lola's shunt repaired and she is doing fine 6+ years and thousands of dollars later. I think these are despicable brokers that do the very minimum for these poor pups and they very definitely support puppy mills. I would never, ever buy from them again and would warn anyone to RUN, not walk away from Fancypups.com!!!!

You said it so well, and even if you can well afford the money, it's the emotional investment that can take a toll. While no breeder can absolutely guarantee a healthy pup, you can raise you chances dramatically by going to a breeder whose goal is raising healthy pups and who does health testing and knows the line 5 generations back on both sides.
