| Petsmart causes bruises after grooming I am in MN and sold a pup to a gal about 1 1/2 ago. She called me to say Tootsie had brusies all over and a lump on her back and could I think of anything that might cause this and she was on her way to the vets. She told me that she had just been to a new groomer at Petsmart and when she picked her up she was acting strange and withdrawn. She was hiding under their chairs etc. She has been to groomers many times and never acted like that after. The vet did a bunch of blood work and it all came back normal. Nothing medical that would cause this. The lump has now gone away but the bruises are still there but not getting worse. She is acting ok and happy again. Check out these pictures When she talked to the groomer, she said nothing had happened. Petsmart offered right away to pay the vet bills. She didn't want any $$ , just wanted to find out if a accident had happened so she could inform the vet. Poor baby, I was glad to hear that nothing medical was wrong, but what the heck went on at the groomers. She is very good for grooming and has a wonderful temperment with everyone. So sad. |

| That is horrible. I think she should let Petsmart pay the bills. After all, obviously, their groomer is responsible for whatever happened to that poor baby. Sheila |

| That is horrible.. what kind of groomer would bruise a yorkie like this.. that is why I learned how to groom my dogs.. had the same kinds of problems with my tiny guy being petrified.. so I will not leave mine alone at a groomers ever again.. I would have some one come to my house first.. the mobile pet groomers and watch them... |

| Wow, that is so bad! How could they do this- just rough handling- or is it because a puppy struggled against them?? Or did it fall- another dog rough it up??? If they offered to pay right off the bat- I'd say, well, hummmm what that's all about??? I have never had a dog at the groomers- but why can u not stay during the grooming?? I know it is easier to drop off and pick up!! My sister has taken dogs to groomers for yrs!! I have never heard her have one problem, with bad cuts,or any other issue- except her favorite went into semi- retirement- and she doesn't always get her now!! Poor baby, sounds like she had a scarey trip to the groomers this time! to bad she cannot tell us where those bruises came from!! Gentle little hugs and kisses to that sweet one!!! I would be spitting fire- they would pay vet bills- refund the cost of grooming, and a lot more! If an owner did this, they would probably be charged w/ animal abuse!! I think some accident happened there- which accidents do happen, but they should of stated when she was picked up!!

| Those bruises are not caused by any accident. She was held very tightly by her underside. I actually saw a groomer hold a dog like this one time to keep the dog from walking even though the noose was around the neck. I would make the store pay Vet. bills and more! I'm so sorry this happen to your baby. |

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Glad that she wil be ok but I have to tell you from all the sightings of dogs falling off their grooming tables in several states..I am so not taking my monster to them. I started learning to decently groom when I had Lulu. I am back to the starting board with Zoey now but I will struggle on. Too many horror stories that are told.
