| Donating YT 2000 Club Member | I'm just now reading this thread. Please do not feel pressured into ever making a deposit on a puppy. There are so many more puppies out there; you should not have to commit within the 1st week to the runt of the litter. There are so many chances that the health of this puppy could be compromised. I had a large litter of Biewer puppies in July, the smallest was 2.5#. I see so many red flags. |

| Excuse me but, I'm not replying to a rude and hateful pm in private (this is suppose to be from a nice reputable breeder), I will take it right here. I believe you called me a rude and hateful person in your me. Fancy: If you ever in your lifetime pm me once again, You and I are going to have serious problems. You sure don't know me. I'm pretty sure the OP may have moved on, maybe not. Please don't give me any "play nice ladies". I'm passionate about the breed and YT and will not sit idly while someone like this to come in and try to pawn their teacup yorkie and rare golden morkie "stuff" to impressional newbies whether it be the OP or lurkers. Please carry on, |

| I have to agree with the other breeders. I not only don't take deposits early but I don't allow the pups to be viewed until they've had their first set of shots. I evaluate at 8 weeks of age to see if I have a possible show potential and than I advertise. There's no reason to let someone's heart get set on a dog that may not turn out to be what they want and at birth is definitely too young to be able to tell.

| Hey, everyone. So I just called the breeder. She clarified that the pup was 1 ounce at birth. At 12 days old, he is now 5 ounces. Anyone want to give me some feedback on this? Is this too much of a rapid increase? I'm sure we have to take into account that he is being bottle fed in between feedings, to make sure he catches up to the rest of the puppies. The rich fat in the momma's milk must be a lot for him, but I'm not sure if this is still quite abnormal for a two-week old. Feedback is appreciated. Thank you. | This is normal for a puppy to gain weight during the first days . It would be abnormal if he was loosing some . |

| I looked at a puppy weight chart and it said that a Yorkie at 2 weeks should weight around 5 ounces. But for this puppy to gain 4 ounces in the matter of two weeks worries me. The weight chart says that pups should gain about 1 ounce per week. I wonder if he will gain a lot again by next week. You guys might be right - he might end up being the largest of the litter...sheesh! |

| I don't take deposits until my pups are about 6wks and have been vet checked and I can tell more about them. Then I can price them. It's still early at 6 wks to know for sure what they will turn out like, but you have a much better idea. You will have no idea at such a young age about looks, temperment, health , etc. I see no reason why buyer would put a deposit down on such a young pup unless they have been waiting for a certain line for their breeding program, showing etc. ( even then it's a crap shoot) |
