i never take deposits on my babies until five or even six weeks old. That way, I am reasonably sure i will have a healthy puppy for them. The problem as i see it for you is that not many breeders will ship a puppy to Canada simply because of thee long flight and etc. nothing personal. i know i would be scared to ship one of mine that far alone. Heck, i wouldn't even let one of mine fly to CA alone. I took her in the cabin with me as her escort.
