how should i tell this one breeder that i don't wanna buy her puppy anymore?
 
Hi Everyone,

Please give you your advice. In the past month, I have narrowed down my Yorkie search to TWO breeders. I have solidly chosen one breeder (after much thought), but feel like I've gotten in too deep with the other breeder. How should I tell her that I am no longer interested in her Yorkie? :confused: :(

I would say honesty is the best policy. Who knows, down the road you
just may want one of her puppies.

You're right. I might eventually want another Yorkie from her one day. Very good point.

I wanna be careful with my words. Do you think I should say, "I have decided to negotiate with another breeder?"

Should I give her a reason? (The breeder I've chosen to go with is actually selling her pups for more and also provides lifetime breeder support [including grooming]. She is also very personable. We enjoy hearing from each other.)

Hi! I'm a breeder and I would want to know as soon as possible, and I think just an honest "I've found another puppy that better suits me" would be good :) I'm sure they'd rather know now, rather than be thinking the puppy is sold.

I'm sure they will understand!!! Good luck in your puppy search!!!!

That's great advice! Thank you so much. (It's a good thing the breeder and I communicate via email! I would feel so badly for letting her down, face to face.) Good advice from a breeder! It's good to see it from your shoes!

It is probably better that you haven't yet sent pictures - I would have gotten too attached! But it's better that I inform you now, that I decline from my previous inquiry.

Can you guess which one he is? :) He was born on Monday, September 24. He is 1 week and 3 days old today! He is the smallest of the litter of five (three boys, two girls)! He weighed 3/4 of an ounce! He is going to be super small. I wonder how many pounds he'll weigh as an adult!
Anyway, I almost teared up when the breeder sent me this picture. I can't wait to be a dog momma!!!

The breeder replied. I am relieved! She said 'no problem' and that it's better since the puppies were turning out to be show quality and was thinking they would be better off in a show home.

Show quality puppies! Bye bye! :(

Now, I feel stress-free! Thank you for everyone's help!

Did I read that wrong..does he weigh three quarters of an ounce?? or 3.4 oz??

Very cute. :D I could tell he was the runt of the litter just from a quick glance. I hope you know, though, that just b/c he is the smallest now, doesn't mean he'll stay tiny. ;) Good luck with him!

Until the puppy is about 12 weeks old you really can't estimate his size. Many a time has the smallest one at birth turned out to be the largest full grown. I would be careful when considering a runt especially at such a young age. Tread carefully and good luck with your puppy selection.
