| In a way, I had a similar situation when I bought Gizmo. In this area it was difficult to find even a halfway decent breeder since I was new to yorkies and had no contacts. I had to put a deposit down to get on a waiting list, but not for a specific puppy. I also wanted to time the puppy's homecoming with my summer break. So, I feel for you. However, I made some mistakes when choosing my breeder that I didn't discover until later and the deposit was already made. Luckily, Gizmo is wonderful, but the key word there is "luck". I would listen to what these ladies are telling you. Find the perfect pup for you and don't let anyone pressure you. A healthy yorkie is worth more money, more time, more travel, more research, more inconvenience in general. Good luck and best wishes on your search.

| Is 3/4 of an ounce unusually abnormal?!
Oh my goodness YES I wouldn't put a deposit on him [unless it's refundable] with him being sooooo tiny. The smallets pup I ever had was 2.3 oz and she didn't make it. I have a mom who is 4.5lbs and had 5 pups ranging from 3.6-4.2 oz. Good luck |

| Most did well..I would say 8 out of 10 grew up just fine...but I tube fed most of my tinies..and used Dyne. I had a girl named Candy who never carried her pups more the 55/56 days...so her 3 to 4 pups per litter were always under 2 oz...she had 4 litters and none died. Had one not gain any weight for 11 days..his coat was dull, no muscle tone. clamy skin..a limp blob..I got up each morning hoping he had died peacefully in his sleep. Mom cleaned him, but I fed him and he just laid there for 11 days.....then came day 12, he looked better, and each day he improved. I didn't let him go until 4 months and two full pounds..no lingering health problems... ...do all you can and the results will be, "some will live and some won't" plain and simple... |

| Dyne is a High calorie liquid dietary supplement. You mix it in with the puppies food when they are sick or you are weaning them. You can purchase it at www.revivalanimal.com Last edited by Fancy; 10-10-2007 at 11:16 PM. Reason: link |

| Would nutrical or Karo syrup be comparable? Nutrical can be hard on the babies tummy. The dyne is easier assimilated into the system. Karo doesn't have vitamins. Dyne is a high calorie dietary supplement. This will combat dehydration, the other things won't You can feed this straight mixed with water when they won't eat at all. Nutrical can cause diarrhea. |
