I am sooooo sorry to hear about the loss of your other doggie, I too lost a beloved doggie a few months ago and I know what you are feeling, it is very heartbreaking. On a better note, The new babies couldn't have come at a better time. If you believe in reincarnation, maybe one of the little ones are the one you lost. You now have a sweet little fur angel in heaven.

I am going to take the markers off, since I can tell them apart, (plus it makes me nervous to have anything around their neck) the lady who helped me deliver put them on (I had them ready to go before she got here) but I had her tie them on. But since one boy has white on its chest and the other doesn't, and there is only one girl, she has a different white pattern and a tad on her neck... I should be safe taking them off... since now I can be pretty sure the white will stay for at least a few weeks (thank you for that info) thanks for the info on how to post pics, I tried this am, should of just asked, would of saved a lot of time... lol. Is it normal for my mom to still pant- is it because she is warm? the room temp right now is 79? is it better to have the room warm or to have a heating lamp? I can't cool off the room too much more (without creating a draft) because the ac is broke, but I could lower it a couple of degrees as it cools off tonight... which way is best? thanks again, I know I have a lot of questions, but I want to do what is right, my mentor is at a dog show now, so I can't ask her at the moment... and the vet is closed and this isn't an emergency.. lol well to them it isn't. thank you so much

Shelbies heart... we are keeping a puppy, and we believe that if she "comes back" we will know, and that puppy will choose us... I do know that she was helping us out last night when the baby girl wasn't breathing... thank you for the nice reply... I am sorry you also lost a pet, they are really family.

| Minniemn I'm so sorry for your loss. It's alway's terrible to have to make that awful decision to put your pet to sleep. I'm sure she know's how much you loved her though and I sincerely hope your other rotty will mend her broken heart, as well. Congratulations on your beautiful new litter! Mommy looks very proud!

Congrats on your new babies. Would you even consider having your vet dock the tails a bit longer? I am getting people asking me that question and I say "I do 'em myself, so I will talk to me!"

thank you all for the replies... it is an emotional time that is for sure. I had the vet do the tails, I didn't want to do them at all- hopefully someday this country will change the "breed standard" he left a third... but if the person who was purchasing the pup and wanted the tail left on, then I would leave it alone.. only because I feel it is an unnecessary procedure(this is just my opinion... and I don't believe for a second that they don't feel the pain, because I heard them cry) the dew claws, that is more of a safety issue, I had one with 4 dew claws, poor thing had to have a stitch. I am excited for the day we get past this stage... there is just too much to worry about. thanks again, I am sorry for not responding earlier, I didnt' realize there were more posts.

I just hope it gets less worrisome as they age, maybe I am being to fragile with them? I don't know, but they are so cute to watch, and see them grow... I thought we were over the hump, and then they got a runny nose 6 weeks, I bet that is a cute age.... thanks for the congrats.... my mama is a trooper, and is taking good care of her babies.
