| ![]() Is Brittany's of Brittie123 babies what you consider baby doll faced yorkies? I am so in aaawwwee with her Mia. Gus has a shorter snout, and he's a very good looking guy,, but Mia is a beautiful little girl. That little face is so darn adorable!!!

YT Addict | ![]() You are sooo right! I haven't raised but two litters so far and i've expierenced the amazing genes. My vet said they could go way back. I have a new litter now and i would never guarantee the size , color or length of their snout. |

| ![]() I can't understand the fascination with flat-face Yorkies. I thought a knew a lot about "baby doll faces", but I guess I don't.

| ![]() It is certainly not everyone's "taste" but I just love them! They are so darn cute! The breeder I got Avalon from has been breeding for it for so long that she can almost guarantee the face. You can see it in all of her dogs and the dogs of the breeders that network with her. I know that there is always a chance they will change as they get older but with hers it would be rare because she has this face bred into her dogs for so many generations. She also knows where to stop and where to bring in a long snouted dog so the dogs don't have the breathing difficulties. It is not easy to accomplish and she is very talented at breeding and knowing what dogs to put together to get a particular look. I am amazed by it all. |

| ![]() I can often tell by looking at puppies which ones are baby doll faced and which ones have the teddy-bear face, but I can't tell on the older dogs. Does someone have a picture of a baby-doll face yorkie as an older adult? Do they grow out of that look as they get older? Just curious.

| ![]() If you want to see the babydoll faced yorkies as adults, just look at Teri's Sweet Pea (Bowwow Couture) and Brittany's Mia. Also Raven om Marysyorkies.com. Here is a link to a website for a beeder with babydoll faced yorkies. There are some adults on the hpme page an throughout the site if you look. Also you can go to Noblestar kennels and Starlights Yorkies. http://www.epetitepuppy.com/ Last edited by SoCalyorkiLvr; 07-21-2005 at 08:17 PM. |

| ![]() Well, I looked at the HP too, because here in Europe we try to breed yorkies with short snouts, but what I saw there is really extreme and I donīt like it too. I had to realize what we call short is long compared to the baby doll faced yorkies. I think they donīt look like yorkies anymore they have a complete different expression with that short snouts. My girl has a short snout for Germany, but itīs much more longer than the ones of the baby doll faced. We try to breed it a little bit shorter because in Germany there are many dogs with very long snouts and the judges in Europe like the shorter one. |

| ![]() My "cup of tea" may not be your cup of tea but that's perfectly okay. Some like a long snout, some prefer a short one. I don't think it is about "money" at all, it is about personal taste and what you prefer. The breeder with the shorter snouted dogs would lose money based on the opinion of many people on this thread who don't like the "look" so it can't be about money. It's her personal preference and she breeds that way DESPITE some negative public opinion. I have never seen two yorkies who looked the same and I don't know what a "traditional" yorkie is. I think that is part of the beauty of this breed. They ALL look different! Even within the "breed standard" if that is what you refer to as "traditional", there is a wide range and one day the longer snout is in favor, the next judge likes a shorter snout. One year they like "leggy" yorkies and the next season, it's short and cobby. In my opinion, docking tails is "extreme" so we all have different ideas of what that means too. The Biewer isn't "traditional" by any stretch and most yorkie fanciers would love to have one of them. I don't think money was what Mr. Biewer had in mind when he developed his dogs even though it turned out to be profitable. He received a LOT of criticim from "longtime" breeders. Just look at the variety on this board. Our own dogs all look different from each other and I think they are ALL BEAUTIFUL. ![]() |

| ![]() is there a difference between baby doll and teddy bear face? Is it the same? I must admit..I have seen some cute baby doll faces. I think when people think "traditional" they have a mental image of the standard, in other words what you see when you attend shows or look at AKC standard examples. I prefer that look because thats what attracted me to the breed, I love the elegant dainty look. But I'm one of those that loves the Biewer too! Would love to have one...maybe one day.
