My "cup of tea" may not be your cup of tea but that's perfectly okay. Some like a long snout, some prefer a short one. I don't think it is about "money" at all, it is about personal taste and what you prefer. The breeder with the shorter snouted dogs would lose money based on the opinion of many people on this thread who don't like the "look" so it can't be about money. It's her personal preference and she breeds that way DESPITE some negative public opinion.
I have never seen two yorkies who looked the same and I don't know what a "traditional" yorkie is. I think that is part of the beauty of this breed. They ALL look different! Even within the "breed standard" if that is what you refer to as "traditional", there is a wide range and one day the longer snout is in favor, the next judge likes a shorter snout. One year they like "leggy" yorkies and the next season, it's short and cobby.
In my opinion, docking tails is "extreme" so we all have different ideas of what that means too.
The Biewer isn't "traditional" by any stretch and most yorkie fanciers would love to have one of them. I don't think money was what Mr. Biewer had in mind when he developed his dogs even though it turned out to be profitable. He received a LOT of criticim from "longtime" breeders. Just look at the variety on this board. Our own dogs
all look different from each other and I think they are ALL BEAUTIFUL.
