| papers question I just sold a pup tonight with limited registration- the people are now regretting their decision to buy a pup and want to bring her back. has anyone ever had to request new papers from akc? i darkened in the limited registration box and if i decide to keep her I do want to use her to breed. how does this work- they are supposed to bring her back tomorrow but akc will be closed so i won't be able to ask before they bring her back. the guy says he will pay any replacement costs for the papers- jsut wondering if anyone knows.

| well i think if i decide to keep her i can register her on line and i will have the option on the online form to select limited or full registration. i just went to akc website and they do give the option to register the pup online. i will have to check further to see. i would still appreciate any input if anyone has any.

Donating YT 14K Club Member | Beth, what was the reason for selling her limited to begin with??? If she was sold limited, then she should stay that way. Do you do contracts?

| i sold her limited because i came off of her price 300.00 because the people said they did not intend to use her for breeding.

| yes i do a contract which they signed and clearly states that i do no t do refunds unless of course if after they take her for her initial vet check something is found to be wrong. I told the guy he could bring her back tomorrow- my husband told me that i should call him back and say that i want to wait until monday after i have had a chance to talk to akc. what do you all think?

| This is just my opinion, but if the people are already considering bringing her back, it may be best if they did. The little girl might not be in the right home for her. Then you can find a home where she will be loved forever. |

| that is the same thing i told my husband. i just hate the thought of having to go through any bull with akc as far as getting papers reissued. it does not seeem like it should be that big of a deal but you never know.

You can destroy those papers and ask AKC for a duplicate. I bet you can probably do that online or read about the procedue. Good luck! | |

| I'm sure it won't be too bad. I'd go through whatever bull I had to, to make sure one of my babies is in the perfect home. They may just charge you a small fee for a new paper and ask that the old one be returned? I'm only guessing here. You may just have to tell any new prospective owners that you will have to hold off on the transfer until you get the papers back and just explain to them what happened. Good luck and let me know what the procedure is on this. You've got me curious now... |

| i am reading that section on the akc website in between posting here. I think that she can be registered online which would eliminate the whole paper processs anyway. i don't think it should be too hard. surely this is not the 1st time in akc history that something like this has happened or someone has accidentally colored in that box and needed new papers. thanks for your help. she is coming home tomorrow morning so i will feel better just having her back.

| thanks to you all for your advice- i found the FAQ section that dealt with this. All i have to do is send something in writing requesting replacement of her papers- along with her litter information and number. it will be a 15.00 processing fee. Sounds simple enough!
