| ![]() OP, Look I apologize that some of us ( myself included) have came on strong. I know we are all worried about Shy’s safety. I know there are ways to go about things, but it is so much easier said than done.. especially if it is something we hold dear to our hearts. Our passion tends to just come out and it gets the best of us. I apologize- non of us want you to think we don't want you here. Non of us want you to think you are alienated. All of us here are glad to have you as a member, we are glad you came to YT asking the questions you did. Not a lot of people would do that. A lot of the members/ breeders have seen horrible things happen, losing their bitch, losing puppies, sickness getting to the puppies, parvo.. etc. I know that is not something they would want to happen to you. Breeding is not an easy thing to do, it takes a toll on your emotions. It is also very expensive, especially with Yorkies. I know your reasons of Shy having puppies are innocent, but please look at the other side to this. You really need to ask yourself can you do this.. it is not by any means going to be easy. YT has many breeders, pick a couple and talk to them one on one. They will tell you stories that will make you want to run Shy to the Vet and have an emergency spay. It takes a very special person to breed. Please, please think about this, think about Shy most importantly. Think about the dangers that can happen to her. Without the resources, funds, mentor, Vet on call.. etc. etc you’re not going to be able to do this successfully. Please just come back and talk to us, we will all be on our best behavior ( myself included). We are getting nowhere and our time is running out. I ask you from the bottom of my heart ( For Shy’s sake) to please think of what you are doing before it gets too late.

| ![]() Ya know what bothers me more? The couple of members here that breed for the same reasons...NO GOOD REASON and call themselves a breeder...Why, because they know better....but like this guy they choose not to listen....they put their pups in danger every freaking time they breed...

| ![]() Just to clarify....I'm talking about the self proclaimed "BREEDERS" who don't do proper health testing, breed mixed breeds and do not breed to standard...and cut corners...a.k.a. byb's....blah, blah, blah..... THEY ARE MEMBERS AND KNOW BETTER...AND I keep HOPING they learn...but they don't....This bothers me even more than these "breeders"....

| ![]() Hey folks, I'm not on to read the critics, but, to simply give an update to the ones who care... Shy has been to the vet twice since I posted last. Her first visit was meant to get xrays, but, it turned out to be too soon. We got her some more blood work and it came back healthy. After another week and a half or so, we went back in at day 45 (two days ago) and poised the question to her vet again, "do you really think she's healthy enough to have the pups? Should we terminate and have her spayed?" She told me she is a healthy 6lbs and she has no reason as to why she shouldn't have them. She made me reminded me that smaller breeds tend to need cesareans, especially if there is not many pups and that Shy could be in the same boat. THEN she asked me what I wanted to do. I told her that I wanted her to be healthy, no matter what. Even if she thought we should terminate. I was told she should be fine and we took measures to make sure her cesarean (if needed) could be setup in a hurry as well as her spay after she delivers. We setup the "worst case scenario" prices and made arrangements accordingly. I have her an appointment this Sunday, for an xray, to find out how many she'll have. We've also made sure to get ready for her pups to be put on a wellness plan with spay/neuter. Well, there you have it. She's doing well, giving lots of puppy kisses, still has some energy and takes the stairs with me to use the restroom (though I go slow and we take the elevator up instead of her climbing 3 flights). Mornings and returning from work are happy to see me. We also have a friend staying with us that will help if needed. I've put in for some leave during a couple weeks during/after her due date. Hope all of your pups are doing well. Last edited by jaydoubledub; 09-09-2013 at 06:29 PM. |

| ![]() I noticed a couple comments above about selling the pups. I have no expectations of making a profit from Shy. I would rather give them away to a family that's loving, capable, and that I interview with a "warm and fuzzy" feeling afterwards than to make money from someone I haven't even met. No offense, I would not even sell one online to anyone on this site. I would really have to meet someone or have a way to confirm the person's personality. And I would not give away or sell a puppy without spaying/neutering. |
