I will never forget the female yorkie I saw one night at the Emergency Clinic. Her owner brought her in wrapped up in a blanket. She put her on the counter and took the blanket off and there was a puppy stuck, just hanging out of the mother....dead of course. They took her right back in and when I got called back I could hear the owner in the next room refusing a Csection for her female. I was horrified. When I left, the woman was sitting on the waiting room floor with the mother in a crate (no clue where that came from)... but the poor mother pup looked so distressed. I think of her every time I see a thread like this...I don't think people realize how dangerous it is to breed these tiny pups. It is definitely not all lollipops and rainbows...I know I could never EVER do it.

| Yeah, exactly what I was thinking.... Do you even know for sure if Shy is pregnant? No right? Bc u haven't even gone. To the vet for an ultrasound yet. I think that's what you should be doing instead of calling us all snobs. Us who worry about nothing but the well being of your girl. We are worry about HER. You not so much.

| When are you going to take her into the Vet for an exam? You don't even know for sure yet.. I'm sure your Vet can send you home with some vitamins, food ideas, Some advice even.

You have had access to wonderful information in the breeders section of this forum ever since you became a member here. You are wrong about what we "snobs" have succeeded in doing....we "snobs" have succeeded in getting you to assume some accountability for Shy's predicament, and have succeeded in getting you to read and research information that has always been there for you to learn from....albeit better late than never. Exactly. He got a lot of great advice. I guess it just wasn't delivered in the way he could take it without getting his panties in a wad.

| Every one has accidents and makes mistakes but how you handle them that is what makes you who you are. This accident can be fixed and Shy can have an emergency spay and avoid a lot of things that could happen. If she is a fearful dog what happens if the Labor scares her and her blood pressure shoots up? What happens if out of fear she kills her pups? Set aside what you want and think about her and what she would want and no she doesn't want puppies and she doesn't want the pain of labor and pregnancy she just wants you to love her and take care of her.

| It looks like you have gotten some good advice about your options, the risk involved, etc. If you have chosen to let your girl have puppies just get prepared. Have $thousands available for vet care if needed. Be ready to take time off. Ask your vet many questions. Finding a mentor would be good, but ultimately the first priority is a good vet. I know if my furgirl was having puppies I personally would want my vet to be near because they can examine mom, give drugs, do emergency surgery, etc. So if you try and can't find a mentor just talk to your vet about it. Not sure why there is a big push for ultrasound. Unless your vet believes it is necessary you may not need to. A lot of people choose to wait and xray. If you are not sure that she is pregnant (could be pretty hard to tell the difference between that and fakse pregnancy) then treat heras if she is. The diet needs to be changed. Talk to her vet,

We can either help them, or alienate them. On this particular thread, there is definitely both. And the OP is right there in the mucky area too. Btw, OP, please read YT rules - we don't allow name calling.
