| ![]() What is the difference between a backyard breeder. Puppymill, And a true breeder? Nevermind don't answer that! Let's not stereotype.

| ![]() But that is not true not all pure yorkies look like yorkies. Your stuck on hating the standard and missing the other facts. Quote:
You came to the right section... The breeding forum for your questions. If I were you I would listen most to the advice of your Vet or an actual Breeder and you don't have to explain yourself to anybody as to why you want to do it. It's really nobody's business. | |

| ![]() As a passer-by to this thread and after reading every single post, I would just like to say a few things and then I'll be on my way. First, breeding to standard IS what is good for the dog. The standard is set for various reasons (yes looks are a big part of that) but also for health reasons. Second, you say more or less "why not breed pure Yorkies even if they don't look like pure Yorkies?" Same reason I wouldn't breed certain people together. Sure, they are both pure humans, but come on! Not all humans are meant to reproduce ![]() Third, you have asked your question in a forum that is dedicated to promoting the best for the breed of Yorkshire Terrier. You have received answers from some well educated and veteran members of this community. More importantly, you have received answers from several breeders. (And, no need to stereo type..there is a HUGE difference between a BYB, a puppy mill, and a trained, educated, and TIME TESTED breeder - to compare a breeder who has paid his/her dues, put in blood sweat and tears, worked with mentors for years, and know more of the breed than most of us even knows exists is not only insulting but just ignorant. No, not stupid. Ignorant. There is a difference.) You seem to be choosing to engage in the responses you are getting from a couple of people who have been on this forum for less than a month instead of listening to the valuable tips and advice given to you by experienced breeders. This tells me that you don't want an answer that is honest. You want an answer that tells you it is ok to do what you want to do. I am truly very sorry for the loss of your ex. And I can totally and completely understand why you want to carry on her beloved Mollie's line. What I do not understand is why you fail to answer TWO replies to this thread suggesting you go back to the breeder Mollie came from and see about getting another pup or two from that line. Have you considered this or are you just determined to breed Mollie? I think it's a valid question. I have no reason to be defensive and no one else here does either, to be honest. Not sure why that was said. So, I'll turn it around on you - please don't be defensive and please let us know why it has to be Mollie that has the pups if it is Mollie's line you are interested in? I wish you nothing but a great life with Mollie. I trust you want what is best for Mollie. Please take the advice you've received throughout this thread and be descerning in what you take and what you discard. It'd be like me getting a diagnosis from the top specialist in the field of cardiology but going to a walk-in clinic for a 2nd opinion. And deciding the 2nd opinion goes along with what I thought to begin with based on WebMd so I'll go with that. ![]()

| ![]() First, I never said I didnt take the advise from other long term members. I have. There has been some post where I even said think you. You must have missed those :-) The long thread was started based on a debte. I have made nothing but valid points. Please look past standerds in creating the perfect yorkie. (hitler tried this) We all made good points. some agree and some disagree but lets remember not to play god. It is all in the history ;-) Smaller yorkies have more health problems. look outside of the box. Pure is pure and if its pure and you can be prue no one should tell you not to breed it. Quote:

Im more 50\50 and unsure becuase i do not want to put her at risk. I have a very logical man and a huge history buff. I love research and i what i do for a living. :- )
