| ![]() I didn't follow the thread. By the time I made the comments about what could happen in breeding it already did. It's sad and it upset me very much. Many emotions. Breeding should only be done to honor the breed. It's crucial to protect the breed. People did this as a gift to us. We owe it to the future of the breed we love so much. There are thousands of poorly bred yorkies that need homes now. Why add to them? There isn't any honor in this. Study, go to shows, be a servant and take pride in doing the right thing. Join a local kennel club if you don't have anyone local. The right people won't help people that take them for granted. Dogs having sex to make puppies isn't safe, it's not beneficial to the breed. They cannot take care of themselves. Humans are beacons to these precious little beings. Shelters are full, rescues are full. It takes a teacher and servant to the breed. Breeding when done for the right reason, with very educated breed fanciers looking to improve the breed can have beautiful results. These yorkshires-They are a gift to us, not to be used. It takes many many many years years to learn how to be a breeder of yorskshire terrier. |

You bred a husky, that does not mean that you know what all is involved with breeding a toy breed. You should have read everything you could get your hands on and asked questions prior to breeding. That being said, it is still not too late to learn, and I'm glad that you are here asking questions NOW, because you have a lot to learn before she is due. For the sake of your yorkie and her babies, please listen and learn.

| ![]() Maybe I should have just let it die... but when you were first conversing with Diamondsdad you were happy bc he was happy, but then some very experienced breeders came on to say stuff to you and you immediately called it bashing and said you 'heard that happens here but never experienced it' and that you had enough for one day. It was like you were waiting 'to be bashed' (your words) bc of how quickly you jumped to say that you were being bashed. Whatever though.... I am not a breeder. Again I am very sorry for the loss of your little girl. That is terrible and I wouldn't wish that upon anyone. ![]() ![]()

Having said that, the part of your quote I highlighted is the problem with this kind of post. What "first hand experience" will you get from an online forum? The forum is so far detached and breeding is a really serious and potentially fatal endeavor, as unfortunately you learned first hand. In order to really learn first hand experience, a potential breeder needs to find a someone that will be their guide through the breeding journey. Reading, attending classes, and learning the standard are a fantastic way to start, but they DO NOT replace the the wonderful guiding hand of a mentor. I love this forum, there is so much to learn and it is a great resource. It is also a place to meet friends. I have real live friends that started out as YT friends. ![]()

The first week it is important to weigh them a couple of times a day to make sure they re gaining. You can lose them so fast, waiting one day is too long. As for the mother trying to move them, do you have the bed inside an xpen? My mothers never try to move them. I handle them daily so they get used to being handled. I weigh them daily for the first two weeks, longer if I have one that is lagging behind.

The reason she keeps on moving them out of the box, is she's trying to hid them. You need to cover her area. She doesn't want anyone to see them.
