Awwwww Shucks. Was hoping for baby news from somebody. But glad se didn't hsve them in the night.

I am up every time they feed for the first two weeks. I have a baby monitor so everytime one starts to cry I am up to dig them out from behind momma or find a nipple for them. If I have a tiny one, I sit with them and make sure he does not get pushed off.

It's just like having a new baby but glad it only lasts two to three weeks.

I am glad to know that you only have to get up every couple of hours with the typical litter. With Livi's first, we had so many problems and with them being preemie (and only 2oz.), I was up literally alllll night....I MAYBE slept 20 minutes at a time. I was able to sleep more than that once S'mores was the only one because I knew he was strong and was eating on his own. But that first week was a NIGHTMARE with all that happened!!

Question and probably an odd one. But should Livi be eating like she is? I mean it is seriously nonstop since last night! She ate at 3:30am, then 6:45am and again at 7:15 and it is quite a bit at one time, too. And when she eats, she INHALES it like she is starving!!!! Possible that she gets more hungry right before labor than how some mommies won't eat?? :confused:

Tammy, I have had females that would eat like that. They would eat right up until they went into labor. They are all different. You are lucky she has such a good appetite. I really worry when I read about a momma that won't hardly eat. I bet she has some nice fat healthy pups.

You are so right, Barbara! I would much rather see her eating than not. It has just been so surprsing to watch her eat like she is starving and then turn right back around 30 minutes later and do it again. I have seen her where she won't eat at all and that is a HUGE worry.

Here are a couple of pictures that I just took of Livi. As you can see, she looks perfectly happy and content. :) Her tummy looks a lot smaller in these pictures than what she does in person. :confused: She should let me in on her secret. :p

Her tummy looks huge she has to have 4 or 5. I hope she has them today.

She looks sooooo much bigger in person and I swear if she goes another day, her tummy will be dragging on the floor. :eek:

Destiny has been eating like this for the past two days!! Literally eating all day. I guess they feel they need to prepare for those puppies, lol.
Last night she didn't eat much and she isn't very active. We are very close now.

She was just as happy as could be. :) As soon as Daddy set her down, she was wagging her tail and whining at him to be picked back up.....tail going a mile a minute. ;)

Sounds like Destiny is acting so much like Livi...even down to holding out on letting us meet those little ones. ;) I bet Destiny will have hers before Livi.

Tammy, my goodness, no wonder she is eating like a horse, look at all those babies she is feeding.:) It looks like 5 or 6 to me, depending on the size of her pups. How big is the sire? Is he a parti too? I can't wait to see them.

I am pretty sure Destiny will have hers today. I just hope she can hold off for another couple hours as I have to go into work for just a couple hours today and my mom would prefer for me to deliver her pups, lol.

Levi looks so sweet and look at that tummy!! We are all so anxious to see their puppies but apparently they want to keep them all to themselves.

She is definitely a big girl at the moment. The daddy, Huckleberry, is a 4 and a half pounds, but looks/feels even smaller because of his bone structure. He is a parti carrier. Here are some pictures of him:

I hope that Destiny waits for you to get home from work. I can't wait to hear that she has had them! Isn't it amazing how attached we are to them already?! :)

Glad Landon is feeling better; it's no fun when our kids are sick.

I have a security camera positioned over my new pups with a little 5" tv next to my bed. If I hear anyone crying, I just have to roll over and open 1 eye to see what's going on ... It was the best 100.00 I ever spent! :D I can also keep an eye on them while at work by having the live video published on the internet using Ustream.

You are so smart to invest in that...it would be such peace of mind to be able to see them at all times like that!

I was just listening to the heartbeats and I was able to find 4, but quite honestly, some sounded faint. So I do not know if I was hearing the same puppy just at a different angle or if it was actually a seperate puppy. I should have invested in a better stethoscope. I guess I will know soon enough. :) I just pray for healthy chubby babies!

Here is Destiny as of today...


Tonight will be the day. Her temperature is down to 98.5 and the pups are moving further down. She's having mild contractions but they aren't close together so we still have quite awhile to wait.

WOW She is big! How much does she weigh? How much weight do they usually gain? Do you know how many she is having.

She weighed 5lbs prior to pregnancy. She has 4 I believe. She is atleast 7lbs right now.
It varies with each one, it depends on how many pups, how big pups are and how momma carries them.

Her contractions are getting stronger and more frequent, not much longer now.
