That's what I thought. My girl is 5 pounds....her boys were 5.3 and 6.3 or close to that when they were born. She had no issues doing it.

We scheduled the c-section for the next day (her due date) and the puppy weighed 3.5 ounces and was tiny. There is no doubt I jumped the gun on this one, as her next litter she free whelped three 5 ouncer's. :)

oops..sorry for going off topic. I will be hoping to hear good news about Laynee soon!!
If I might ask how big was your female? Sassys xray looked somewhat like you explained . They both look somewhat of the same size.

I think I will wait to see if sassy needs any assistance, she might just do this all on her own

No, you are not the only one that is confused. In this post (Oct. 28th) it says that she took her to the vet that day and was told that she was 4 weeks along. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/2857451-post1.html

:confused: Maybe she can explain this to us.

Sassy was breed also Sep 26 and 28 so she was breed around the same time as my dog it sounds like, which is around 65 days now.

I feel really sorry for this woman, I don't think she knows when the tie happend,so for her this is a real guessing time. Plus the fact that she has babies of her own and all the other stuff going on her life this is putting a lot of stress on her. I feel for her dog too, she does not know what is going on.
hopefully the vet will guide her for the benefit of the dog and everything will turn out well.. hoping for the best for you..

Oh good, the more I hear you all with 5 lb dogs and larger or 3-5 oz pups with not a problem makes me want to not jump the gun. Her temp is 98.6 so getting their. I have faith in her she will do it fine.

so is still no time for panic in my book i don't stress out until after day 67, then I PANIC with a capital P and go to my vet and Demand...:D
or if my dog is in obvious distress, other than that, I am as calm as a clam.. Thank God, my girl deliver like clock work..

Vets as well as maternaty doctors tend to all want csections even on humans. I had one I should no. They did not take my son until they had to. My pelvis was to small. So will see what happens. I have a vet on call if anything goes wrong.

as long as you have a vet on call is fine, I also ALWAYS have a vet on emergency dial, you never know when you are going to need it.. some vets even suggest waiting until the bitch is in labor to do the c section. wishing your girl the best , hopefully she will free whelp this babies without any problems..

Your female was picked up the 1st of Oct. which probable means she got preg. same time as sassy and she is now 65 days and no pups. I say we both have these pups free whelped tonight. How much does your dog weigh? I believe you said 2 pups, same as sassy. It has to be tonight or tomarrow. They can not hold on to them forever.
