i am completely weirded out at mrs. laynee's nipples. they are red! like hot tomato...is this odd? normal?

picture? I noticed that my girls nipples get really hot and redish about the last few days before whelping, is she really close? if you look at my Chanel's pictures in the november litters you will notice how redish they were they were, vet said is was normal that close to whelping, he saw her on her 60th day..right now they are bursting with milk, thank god for the 5 little ones to suck them dry..LOL, I still keep an eye on them, I am so afraid of mastitis..

Has she had her puppies?

Sometimes the nipples fill before the other other times it is not noticeasble.

If you are concerned you probsbly should take her in. Are they hard? Are they hot? Does she act like it is painful when you touch them>?

They look really normal to me for a female getting ready to whelp. You can see one of the baby bumps too cute! Good luck!

yes,that is how my Chanel's look if you look at my pictures, vet said is very normal, just keep your eye out for lumps and pain, other than that it means she will have pups any minute...:D:D at least that is what my vet told me...

i'm excited. it just happened outta the blue. and she's been hiding out most of the day. hasn't wanted me to touch or pet her(not normal for mrs. attention bug) and has been nesting again in closet.
so i'm just sitting here...waiting:animal-pa

i guess ill know when the panting begins....i even made her some liver a rice and she took a few bites and was done. havent even seen her drink much water or pee or poo much

yes, sounds like it, I also made the goat's milk recipie from mary's is really good, I gave Chanel a few sips in between babies and then she had half a bowl after she was done with whelping and had cleaned the babies, I did let her eat 3 placentas and took the other 2 away, my other girl got the runs after eating 4 so my limit is 3..LOL I also gave her the milk with her lunch the morning after the babies and she drank it all..now she is on whelping puding twice a day and 3 whole meals.

Oh Dear, and the friend did not think to make note of the date?

Well if she is nesting it will most likely be tonight. Do you have all the supplies that you need? Hemostat? heating pad? a bed that the babies cannot crawl out of? bulb syringe? feeding syringe and forumula? a baby monitor? I would not allow her to roam free.

i dont have a heating pad or hemostat but everything else, yes. but idk. part of me think yes its time and the other partfeels like it will never happen. lol.
