I have called vets making sure I have a place to go in an emergency. Day vet takes Care credit card which is wonderful because it gives me 3-6 months to pay on this bill interest free. I called emergency clinics and if after hours they do not take care credit card, which they should. I am sure a c section would be around $1000. OOOOuuCCCHHHH!!!!!!! Hang on girl I am right there with you. I feel as though I can not sit still. pacing, yorkie fever I think they called this. Good luck!!

oh so good to hear from you.. glad she is ok, my son is a vet tech and he saw the pictures and he said she is close but without seeing her in person is hard to judge. I know all about vet expenses I think I spent that ammount in Chanel's tests, from DNA to brucellosis, X rays, bile and you name it I had it done on her, I left nothing to chance..:D
Breeding is stressful and beautiful all in one.. my male had some testing done too..

yea and unfortunately i dont qualify for careredit so im screwed.:thumbdown

OMG'ish they said it would be Thursday?? I hope he is right not that I am a vet but it really looks as if a puppy was in the canal ready to come out, I wish you the best of luck.

Wow thats not good. Believe me I work part time and I just called off work so I am screwed too. I have a credit card built to the hilt, just enough to put me to the top, but if I have to go to emergency hospital tonight I will have to use it. Then figure out how to pay for these bills. And you are right no vets around here will see my pets without payment up front. BullS

I am relieved you took her to the vet and she is ok.

It's not easy where I live...yes there are vets and all of them expect money at the time the services are rendered. No one ever said breeding was cheap or easy.

There have been so many people that have posted with genuine concerns and help--the one positive side to reading the breeder section.

and i completely understand...i'm not trying to be snippy or anything and i know breeding is hard and expensive...thats why i never wanted to do it..this wasnt planned (stupid friend with no knowledge on heat cycles). she was mated while i was gone to cali by a "friend" who had a yorkie.

really watery or loose stool, my one girl gets a runny stool right before whelping.. I know is gross but can you discribe it?

Well you are doing the best with the situation you have been dealt. Hopefully the rest goes smoothly and mother nature takes over. :)

It's more so here, in California. I understand your delima. However, what would have happened had she really been in labor last night and couldn't pass the puppies or because she had a calcium deficiency she could progress to the next stage labor, puppies would have died. Many things could have happened during the night.

$700.00 in preliminary vet care is nothing when one is planning breeding and caring for mom in whelp. Let alone the financial expense that maybe incurred should something happen to your mom, an infection, eclampsia, metritis among the few things that go wrong. Sad to say, that when one is breeding you need to have deep pockets or a good size savings account.

Is there a possibility that your vet would give you his home #? It would be nice to establish that kind of relationship. I know living in Texas there still plenty of those kind of vets still around.

like i said before...this WAS NOT PLANNED. so deep pockets?hardly.lol. decent paychecks? yes. i do all i can right now but im not God and i cant go broke with 2 toddlers
