You know, she can actually shut down her labor. My vet explained that things move a lot faster and easier if you keep her in a dark area and make sure that it's quite. You may want to put her back in her box and just check on her every 30 minutes or so. If you put down some puppy pads you can see if she's leaking her water because it will be on there.

You're right. The only time I start really don't leave them is once the whelping begins. Or I lay on the bed and watch into the whelping area.

The water leaking. Don't be concerned at times you can actually hear a loud pop and water gushes out. That's indicitive that a puppy may be born out of the sack.....dry birth.

no im not bugging her trust me...just watching. shes in my closet back in her whelping box digging and then laying down ever so often. i noticed twice her tail moving up and down...whats that?

but i can also see her skin rippeling(sp?) the pups are still moving but i can see all movement low

Contractions. Watch her close when she does that and you may see the start of the bubble move in and out.

From what you are describing the puppies are moving down the canal and getting ready to enter the world. She's in labor and you maybe begin to see some big contractions soon.....The tail bobbing up and down, the puppy is just about there.

If you want to get things going, just leave the room for a while, several times I've heard a puppy cry before I ever saw it. Maybe set up the bzaby monitor and leave the room. You should hear lots of licking once the puppy starts to come out.

she wont let me leave the room..lol. she freaks out. her and i are very close...and i hear licking but its her licking her teats....se cant reach her tootsie...but i also see nothingemerging. she jumped out of box to get a drink and ran back in, wimpered for a sec and back to sleep

I'd stay with her too.

Thought I'd post these -- this is Bizzy Bee just a short time before birth of first puppy, working hard in 2nd photo, and last after both puppies born.

why don't you try to go sit beside her box with her. I know I did with Tara and she jumped in my lap and started pushing. She was scared and it seemed to calm her knowing I was there to hold her. I let her push a couple times and then put her back in her whelping box.

Are your kids in bed yet? It might help to get them in bed, turn off any noise and just hold her for a while.

eh im alright...she just cant make up her mind where she wants to settle down at....her box, my lap, the floor..lol
shes still acting the same. changing her bedding, switching positions, only squated onced but theres nothing emerging from her...
so i think its gonna be a while
