I wash first with antibacterial soap. Then use alcohol....but have a bowl of Clorox to use for inbetween puppies.....I tired using surgical gloves once.....and had no control.

What? honey bacon is NOT good for dogs, the fat content will upset her stomach..:confused::confused::confused:

its microwavable turkey bacon...kinda look like lunch meat. i needher to eat something

I hope that she doesn't get sick on you when she does start pushing. Ellie threw up all over me. I wouldn't suggest the bacon any more tonight. I would give her some nutri-cal or her dog food.

There is a good whelping pudding recipe on here -- gives them energy and settles their stomachs too. The one I like has instant vanilla pudding, eggs, sugar in it. My dogs loved it -- and to be honest :D late one night while staying up with puppies I ate some too. LOL

You are right, she will need her strength, so she needs to eat something.

yea i know its not the best but she refused to touch her wet food..lol

Mine do not want to eat when they are in labor. Sometimes I can get then to lap up some melted ice cream between puppies, and some water. But for the most part they reject everything.

I'm wondering if you would have better succes if she were just left alone and just keep listening and checking, but maybe not so hands on.

I usually just sit here at my computer and listen and wach from the corner of my eye.

What you need to give her is

1 can of goats milk
mixed with 12 oz of distilled water.
1 egg yolk well beaten
1 tablespoon of Karo Syrup.

You've not told us whether she's pushing or not.

no...no pushing an no bubble...and im not bugging her...im just watching and waiting, but i did notice more clear discharge

yea just made a batch and gave her some...about 2 tablespoons
