| I love watching them grow. My favorite time is when they hit the floor the first time.....a bit unsteady and much like a toddler....then I love when mom starts training them........

| Marc, No snow in Saskatchewan yet, it has been beautiful weather. That is a beautiful pup, Marc. Makes me wish I had some. I love the babies. Oh well, I will be breeding one of my girls next spring and will (hopefully) be buying a new boy in the spring as well. Then the shows and the excitement begins, I love having a dog that I am showing. Right now I have nobody in the show ring and I miss it. |

![]() I should ask while I am in here....her teats closest to her bottom are much fuller than all others. Is that normal? She spends less time with them but not anything I am concerned about...as I think that is normal. Oh, today I gave her a bath and there was a little blob of bloody/clearish discharge in the tub after I drained it. Is that still ok for after two weeks after whelping? This is the first discharge I have seen from her.... | |

| Donating YT 4000 Club Member | LOL, yes it is normal for a bitch to spot up to 4 weeks some a little longer. and yes just keep your eye on them, what I do is while I am sitting next to the whelping box and she is nursing i put the smallest baby in the fullest teats so they can get a LOT of milk, then the bigger ones to empty them, that way we prevent an infection of the teats.. |

I've had girls discharge up to 10 weeks after whelp. Even with a POP shot and knowing that each placenta was presented. It seems that pups never nurse on the bottom two nipples. But, what I was told they are somehow connected to the two above them and the milk is depeleted through them. In the first few days, I milk mom a bit and massage her nipples so that they remain soft and pliable. Whenever she has left the whelping area and wants to go back. I make sure that I wipe down her feet, privates and nipples with a baby wipe before she goes back in with her babies.

| So my boys are two and a half weeks old. They are 18 and 20ish ounces! When does this fast pace growing end....cause on that growth chart it shows their weights in the 3 and 4 week slots, lol. Anyone ever have huge babies but they didn't end up as huge adults? |

| Throw those charts away. All is dependent on their line. My babies grow so fast up front (their line) and then stop at about 5 months of age......
