| Is this labor? Please reply Hi LAcey's temp this morning was 98.9 at 8:40. I just retook it at 11:15 and it is now 98.3. I did not take it yesturday because according to my vet she is only about 53 days, but this morning I just thought I should. I felt contractions like we get when pregnant. last night she went into the cat tree for a little while and when I took her out to go potty last night and this morning I had to pick her up to get her to come inside. She ate all of her breakfast and had a normal stool this morning. No digging not relly restless and does not appear to be over uncomfortable. No milk leaking. What should I look for or do at this point? Thanks |

| It has been 63 days since the day the shelter pulled her off the streets. So I guess she could possibly be between 53 and 63 days. I really wished i knew. X-rays said about 53 but I ma not sure how much experience this vet has with reading a new digital x-ray. |

| Well she probably got bred before the shelter took her off the streets then right? Do you have any idea what type of dog she might be bred to? How big the pups will be and so on? Well with this new info, I guess she could start heavy labor anytime. Watch for the contractions to get stronger, the panting and digging or unusually restless. All the things you mentioned before. Does she have any kind of discharge from her vulva? |

| Make sure you are not taking the temp of her stool. Temps can swing. I would watch her tonight close, just in case.

She was eiether bred before they picked her up or shortly there after but it would haave been in their care so I would like to think that they took some precautions and kept her separated from the others. I have no idea what type of dog she was bred to but in the x-rays on Monday the vet said they were 3 small puppies possibly 1-2 more. Yes she does have discahrge not tons but there is some there. | |

| Sammie had a temperature drop 24 hours before labor started. It dropped and stayed dropped the entire time. I'm not sure if it helps, but I would probably sleep near her or have a baby monitor on so that you can hear if she starts nesting and panting.

| I took Kalina's temp on Saturday afternoon and it was 98.3. She had the puppies at 9:30 the next morning. She wasn't restless or nesting; no discharge; no milk leakage. In fact, she still doesn't have hardly any signs of milk but the puppies are almost 4 weeks old and VERY FAT, so she obviously has milk and it's good stuff!! Hope the whelp goes well for you.

| Kalina's temp stayed down. Her puppies were premature, but they are doing great now.

| Nothing yet. Last night though it sounded as if she were going to throw up but nothinghappened. This morning her temp is back up to 99.6. I guess it was a false alarm. Thanks for all the support and feedback |

| Ellie ate until 15 minutes before pushing started. I didn't do the temp with her because she was constantly up and down.

| I thought this might be a nervous eatting because she has not done this before. The other think I have noticed is she is peeing alot and As far as being restless she is a very mellow and calm dog but she is wandering about the house very calmly of course. |
