No puppies yet!! Last night her temp went back up to 99.3 and this morning it is 99.0. I guess knowing that it really could be any day now has me a little crazy and I over think every little sign. I guess I will see what today brings.... she is laying across me feet as I type!!! Should I get another x-ray to see how big the pups are or is it too late and the stress would be to much?

We all over think things at this time. The one thing one must remember is that each female is different. One of my girls, in the first stage of labor, gets a real spacie look on her face....it lasts for hours.....eats up until she goes into labor, but when she starts her 2nd stage, she lays down and starts pushing, temp, never goes down. Another one of my girls paces all night in her first stage.....2nd stage she arches her and throws her back into an arch and throws her head back, looks like she's gonna roar. She never sits or lays down through the entire delivery. Another girl just calmly begins to push and out pops the babies, one at a time, once an hour.

For the past few days Lacey's temp has been bouncing aroundthe low 98 and the low 99's. I just took her temp at 11:00 and it is 100.1. This has been much higher then it has been in days. Should I be concerned?

I am guessing we are about 58 days or so. She did grab a toy earlier and was playing with it and when my yorkie bumped her she did growl and try to snap which she has not done before to this particular dog. She has always been very patient with this little one.

Think about how you'd feel if you pregnant....and on your last few days....not the happiest of campers......I know I was uncomfortable, moody and yes bitchy (hence the word). If she's only day 58.....hope that she holds off a few days more.

It could also be that she is doing the mothering thing with the toy as well. I know that my Sammie got really protective right before she had her puppies. She wouldn't let anyone near her place on the couch or my husband.

| Babies Coming! When I have a Mom who might be in labor, I keep her beside me and sleep on the floor beside the birthing bed. Don't know if it helps the mom or me the most. The only thing worse than losing a puppies would be losing Mama, too. You need to calm down and just keep her close by. Personally I have found that the moms are smarter than we are. I have one who has given birth TWICE in my bed. What a mess and what a thrill! I put her in the birthing bed (an old dresser drawer) and she goes back to my bed. Last time she even took the first puppy back to my bed before she gave birth to the rest! I had to close my bedroom door the next morning to keep her out of my bed. When she is in active labor you will know it and it will not take a temperature reading to tell. Just be ready to take her to the vet if there is a problem. Several years ago a vet told me that if I was anxious and afraid, I would frighten the mom and that she would be better off if I just came home from work one day to find puppies.

could it be time? I think she lost her mucus plug. I found a dark brown sticky thing on the floor where she hangs out when I am on the computer. She has been really lazy today and every time I would take her outside she would just lay down. I don't see any contractions and she is still eatting everything in sight. I have noticed that she will go outside to go potty and very little pee comes out.and she goes out more often. I mentioned before that she has milk and has it since Monday. Temp is still up and down but in the mid 98's to mid 99's. Do you think she is getting close? Thanks

Hi just thought I would give an update.... No puppies yet I was up all night last night listening and she was a bit restless. She would go to her box and out again back and forth for a couple of hours. Some digging, when she finally settled down she slept on her back all night. She ate all her breakfast and lunch and I am getting ready to feed her dinner, A little gagging but no throw up, no drop in temp but a little while ago she was barking at me and when I started to walk she growled at me and her fur sister. I think I felt contractions but not to firece. So we wait!!!!! I estimate her due date Sept 8 or 9.
