There really seems to have been a major understanding on the part of the IABCA, because Gunter Knoben sent Jeff a standard right after they accepted the Biewer a couple of years ago. Since Mr. Knoben did not send it in English, this may be why Jeff didn't use it. What ever the reason, we have managed to get it straighten out and I'm posting the English version that the IABCA will be using. I guess that only leaves NACK still using the standard written by 2 MiKi breeders. When Mr. Knoben faxed it over, it reduced the size, so if you can't read it please feel free to read it at Biewer Terrier Standard |

Thank you. Yes, we know that, which has been posted all along. Don't you think we have all the pedigrees. Now, you just need to let the others understand that. Thank you again. |
Sorry Obie...I wasn't posting that tidbit of information to your side of the argument. All of the imported, now U.S. Biewers, came from the same few German breeders so how can they all not be Biewer YORKSHIRE TERRIERS like they were when they were imported? |
Many refer to the breed as " Biewer" ( no yorkshire)( no terrier) We have been breeding Biewer to Biewer from the get go Biewer Breed Club of America Never allowing the breeding back of any other breeds ( including Yorkshire Terriers) There are several International Biewer Clubs following Germanys standard. And it's not the BTCA standard. This standard calls for a tri colored head white/Tan black or white /tan blue ( no other head colorations) Only one Club calls it a " Biewer Terrier" and follows it's own standard *BTCA*........even though they all have the same lines we have. As for everyone following the same standard......... um we are, with the acception of the "Biewer Terrier Club ( btca) |

What standard are you using now? Before you clearly stated that you were using the standard written by 2 Miki breeders. There is only one club in Germany, one club in USA and one show venue that is using that standard. UM?? What other club in Germany uses it. You are right about only one club in America calling it a Biewer Terrier and that is the club that has proven that the Biewer terrier is a distinct breed of it's own. It is also the only club that has Mrs. Biewers support and membership. It is also the only club that is a member of the UCI. Union Cynologie International e. V. (UCI e.V.) You guys are welcome to do what you want, all we ask is that you be honest when educating people about the breed. Opinions are fine, but present them as such. |

YOU'RE WRONG about them being Yorkies!!!!! All dogs evolved from the wolf, but that doesn't make them wolves now does it. The Biewer Terrier is a distinct breed of it's own and it's not because of one mutant color gene. Your Parti Yorkies are not because of one mutant color gene either. Why is it that only the people that have been breeding Yorkies for a the last 3 or 4 years have a bunch of Parti Yorkies and the people that have been breeding for the last 20, 30, 40........ years don't have them. Like I said before, do some DNA parentage profiling on the last 3 or 4 generations of your dogs and then lets see what you have. |
IABCA will not be switching to the Biewer Terrier standard. They will continue to use the Biewer Yorkshire Terrier a la Pom Pon standard. The BTCA can hand out titles for the Biewer Terrier but with the IABCA you earn a title for the Biewer Yorkshire Terrier a la Pom Pon so they follow that standard as they do in Germany. Here is the official statement from the IABCA as stated in an email dated 6/13/09. The Biewer Yorkshire Terrier a la Pom pom standard is the officially accepted and followed standard for the IABCA and the Alle Rasse Grupe. |
Thank-You for posting the correct information Stacey! |
